Genius can't be a noun... at least, not a proper noun in the context that you were using it in. It could be, but it'd be weird and breaking a lot of rules. I should name a dog Genius. Or a parrot.

I don't know of an instance where 'genius' is a verb. Adverb, maybe. Its major function is that of an adjective.
