Does he also clearly state that "we will be able to go to the moon for the first time,"

No he doesn't have to he clearly states 'that this will allow to go to the moon. '

So he is not saying that the earlier moon landings never took place, is he?

What do you expect when your post was a prime example of you trying to justify what these astro-nots on the ISS said, as if the ISS existed anyway.

I reckon she can add ‘simple context in plain English’ to the list of things she doesn’t understand. That list already includes basic maths, very basic physics, very basic astronomy, common sense, simple visual observation and, most importantly, Bible study….

Oh, and 153 news is a spreader of misinformation and disinformation…along with all the other clowns leading the ‘flat earth’ cult.

Or else she’s posting nonsense just to provoke…

Also space elevators are not a new concept in space exploration - Arthur C Clarke proposed the concept many decades ago, and it would work for connecting the Earth to any body in geostationary orbit.
I remember this from my younger days & I still have a copy of his fictional novel “The Fountains of Paradise” based around this concept and published in 1979, although in the acknowledgements he does credit the original idea to others in a letter to “Science” magazine in 1966. Maybe someday I’ll get around to rereading the novel…maybe.

It features in Isaac Azimov's "Foundation" series as well.

I haven’t read that series. I notice Apple have a TV series based on it, though I believe it doesn’t stay true to the books.
Unfortunately it followed the current trend of 'strong' female leads and a caricature of 'patriarchy'. Such a shame.

That said it does have the elevator crash, and I do like the actors who play the cloned Emperor, which was an idea that appeared if I recall in one of Asimov’s last books on the subject.

I have to confess I found the first book in the Foundation series a bit sparse to the point of being boring. Whereas other Asimov writings, particularly his juvenile SF novels, I found on a par with anything by Heinlein and sometimes having a rich imaginative lushness that Heinlein struggled to achieve, but which one associates with Vance, van Vogt, Edmond “Planet Buster” Hamilton, Cordwainer Smith, his wife Leigh Brackett, James Blish, and Frank Herbert, among others. Gardner Dozois, a noted SF editor, was particularly good at curating stories that possessed that quality.

The one good thing Apple did was incorporate content from later on. Also, at least they didn’t gender swap Hari Seldon and Jared Harris was an inspired casting choice since he had a chance with Chernobyl (2019) which is ironically based on Soviet propaganda rather than the actual events reported by the operators, and perpetuates the Soviet scapegoating of Diatlov, although the actor who played Diatlov is so over the top in his abusive mismanagement as to provide comic relief, as were many of the other Soviets, but I digress - since playing Valery Lagassov in Chernobyl, Jared Harris has mastered the kind of aloof intellectual that the role of Hari Seldon would require.

Conspiracy theorists will believe this is a real photo from a studio here on earth…I won’t be surprised if it makes it to 153news at some stage claiming proof of NASA skulduggery…

Not quite.

He forgot to say Tesla cars don’t exist.

And the reason for the meme I posted is to show the level of logical argument flat earthers and conspiracy theorists demonstrate while attempting to debunk moon landings etc

They do but not in space

We don't just debunk the moon landings we try to prove that it never happened which is hard being as there are millions of gullible people in the world.

Maybe their fake Mars landing will wake them all up.

And this is what I'm highlighting. The arguments made by conspiracy theorists have been debunked numerous times. Anybody with an ability to research their claims will find such 'proof' to be severely lacking. Conspiracy theorists really only demonstrate that they either haven't grasped basic facts or they are grifting.

Looking back on this thread for example, you tried to question why the moon buggy tyres didn't implode. This is obviously an argument you heard from some conspiracy theorist and you ran with it. I pointed out to you with clear evidence that the tyres were made of wire mesh and so could not implode. In that instance, you demonstrated that you were the gullible one, believing something that made no sense to those of us who say the moon landings really happened.

My advice to you is not to get involved in debates where you can't grasp the basic facts. It will only show up your lack of knowledge and ability to reason or research.

Yeah and what about the tyres on this car ?

And this is an unhelpful trait of yours. Instead of taking the facts on board and acknowledging you were wrong, you try to ridicule something else.

As I’ve said before, try to show some effort at reasoning things out instead of diverting away from the point.

If you wonder why people lose patience with you, this is but one example.

First, if you want a question taken seriously, don’t put a bouncing laughing face after it. That just indicates ridicule, not seriousness.

Second, the Tesla in space has nothing to do with the moon landings. Debunking the Tesla does not debunk or prove anything about moon landings.

Third, how tyres behave in a vacuum is to do with air pressure differential between inside and outside the tyres. There is no air pressure outside being a vacuum and the tyres only have a very small amount of air in them.

A video demonstrating this is here:
