  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hmmmm - I'm sensing a pattern here. By my count, that makes 5 of you (not counting myself) who have either the ELCA or the LCMS first.

Methinks this quiz is biased toward Wittenberg! ;)

Of those, only the fourth is a surprise to me. I don't see much agreement between myself and AoG, other than that I'm open to the possibility of present-day spiritual gifts.

I came up:

1. Evangelical Lutheran Church (What?!)
2. Eastern Orthodox Church
3. Episcopal/Anglican Church

The first came as a real surprise to me as I've never had the pleasure of being in a Lutheran Church. However the Priest at the Episcopal church I go to who does the saturday evening service is ELCA so maybe she's had more of an influence than I thought.

The second doesn't really surprise me in the least considering how much of my spiritual background is in the Eastern Christian traditions. There were many questions that definitly had an Orthodox answer behind them, but only one that really tipped the scale in favor of Orthodoxy and that being the infant communion one. Which is strange considering many Anglican parishes celebrate it. So many in fact that there is a section on it in the book "Welcome to the Episcopal Church."

What I'm really surprised by is that SDA came way down at the bottom of the list as did the Mennonites. Given my belief in Seventh Day Worship and my feelings regarding pacifism, I would have put them higher.

I agree the quiz is geared towards lutheranism.

Apparently, my theology blows with the wind. :sigh:

Well, maybe I should just say it's in a state of flux right now. I took this same quiz awhile back and got radically different results. Ugh.

Here are my top three this time:

1. Assemblies of God
2. Mennonite Brethren
3. Church of Christ

Interesting, but somewhat disheartening.
