• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

So I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth, when I was battling evil thoughts, and one thought came in my mind from the enemy which was something like "curse Jesus", and I was going to think "Yes I love Jesus" but I just thought "Yes", once I thought that I felt like a knot in my stomach.

1 Corinthians 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

Technically I didn't speak it nor did I mean to curse Jesus, I would never do that, I just fumbled in my thoughts while multitasking. Do you think God will forgive me for this? Or is it over for me?

I think it's all over for you. Next!

I'm just kidding. Hopefully you're just looking for opinions and won't put much credence in the answers/responses you get here. God is the only one who knows for sure. I suspect that it's all over for a lot of Christians if that's the result of having ever been angry at God/Jesus. Certainly would be for me.

Even when we’re angry at God, He is still more merciful that we will ever know, let alone when we receive a thought we’d never allow in our mind otherwise, or say out loud. Of course, that doesn’t mean we should be angry at Him in the first place.

Job, just to clarify, I’m not saying that you are angry, I’m quite aware of your problem brother.

Sometimes thoughts like that are worse for me than at other times. They are of course unintentional and often they come into my prayers. I started waiting until the end of my prayer and then telling God that I didn't mean any of the bad stuff. The more I did that the more they started to stay away lately. They are horrible thoughts but I've come to believe God listens to my heart. Try not to worry!
