If must be the windmills that are practically being built in my backyard...I am in a mood.

I went and visisted with an elderly gentleman I look in.

He was attending a Fundamental Baptist Church and all of a sudden stopped. I asked why, and he was pretty elusive to why.

Anyway, the other day, a person who is Jehovah's Witness came and banked this elderly gentleman's trailer. It's something that needs to be in Northern Maine.

I added two plus two. Those folks at the Baptist church wouldn't lift a finger to help a 78 year old gentleman get ready for winter!

What's wrong with this picture????

I am pretty sure in the Anabaptist community, one person has a problem and everyone helps.

What's going on with Evangelical/Baptist Christians lately?

Why wouldn't they help? Has anyone even tried asking on his behalf? One thing I've noticed is that elderly folks are not good about letting others know when they need help. :)

I don't know..the thing is, I did not know about "banking" a trailer until he told me a person came over and did it. I am not a native to such cold weather....

The thing with this particular town is, there is about 2000 people and 28 churches, but there is so much drugs, and social problems. I thought a rural area would be a bliss.

Hey at least the JVs did the job for the old duck. IHH has a point though about how old timers can be though. Are you in contact with anyone else in that congregation?

ON ANOTHER POINT my 6 y/o son would be jealous of your predicament with the windmills. He has some utter fascination with spinning things. There are lots of fans & pinwheels at our house, and windmills in the backyard would be ubercool...got any pics?

In my opinion, because this town is so small: for instance it's known he doesn't have a lot of folks coming and going out of his home, and winter is coming, they should have asked him: What do you need? etc.

He's set on food, clothing, medicare etc.

Sure sounds like he fell through the cracks...do ya know anyone else in the congregation?

Plus if there's a lot of druggies in the community they're not going to care too much about anyone but themselves. And if the local druggies are showing concern for the old man I'd be concerned about his welfare. :)

True. Usually the druggies are at the Pentecostal churches. I am not stating: all druggies are Pentecostals but you know the Pentecostals feel they are on a crusade to save the lost. They will go door to door in low income housing etc.

It's a shame your neighbor's didn't talk to you for a year... :(

I think loosing a sense of community is what is ailing our country.

I think it comes down to that passage about The Good Samaritan and who the neighbor is.

I knew there was something we could learn from the Pentecostals.
