  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

book + background music.

Do you think so?

If they have newfangled picture books that move and can change viewing perspective, then sure. Otherwise...no.

Upon reflection, I guess one has to be an avid reader to agree, or even have a chance too, and not all anime fans are avid readers. To me, anime gives what a book, does, but with voices and music (both which don't happen in the book. I can paint a picture while reading, but I can't do voices, only the idea of what they are saying.

When you put it that way, I suppose I see what you're saying. I haven't been an avid reader recently, but I used to put in at least 3 hours a day, something I should really get back into the habit of, even if not quite to that extent. But really, written works and audio-visual works are two seperate generes, each of which accomplishes some things better than the other. Comparing them or describing one in terms of the other really cuts both sides short, imo.
