Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

So does the Bible say that animals have no soul or what? If the Bible says that animals have no soul, then how is it that when a human soul leaves the body the human body dies, and if animals are borne without a soul, then what are the animals living on?

I think the animal soul is just a lower level of consciousness. But human souls have both lower and higher consciouness, and can go one way or the other.

oh and if the Bible says that animals have no soul, can a christian please explain how and why that is. I mean do animals have another type of soul maybe? If its no soul at all, I just don't see how anything can exist without a soul, would be like living without a heart.

Why is any life created at all?
Yeah you got to wonder why we would go from the highest state of consciousness (Brahman) to a phyical form, like a rock. And then the goal of the soul is to get back to Brahman, by going from a rock to a plant then from buds animals and then human life is the highest life form on this planet. Then humans use their minds to learn of yoga and meditation to get beyound the phyical body and back to being-consciousness-bliss (Brahman).

So if we are already Brahman, then why would "I" Brahman want an ego so that their are many of the one "I", following pain and suffering to learn of our mistakes, and then after many life times unit with Brahman once again.

You wonder whats the point?

i'm not sure, but i don't think the bible addresses whether animals have their souls. (that's not really the point of the bible, humanity is).

All it says is that man was given dominion over animals.
Thanks for the reply g4:)

Well isn't humanity base upon understanding of the soul and god, and why we are here?

Well, the bible isn't "excluding" the information. Its focus is on the present life that you have and how to live it better. And really, that's all you need to focus on. Experience on this plane has been engineered so that all you experience is the present moment. You can remember the past, but can't change it. You can't guess what will happen in the future, even 5 minutes from now. All you can do is just be in the present. The bible focuses on that.

And this is the problem that I have with the Bible, its can't answer all my questions.

But the Bhagavad Gita can answer most all my questions.
Well it seems from there replies , they dont have any definate answers based on Bible but different views.

What about answers based on Quran? Any muslim there?

I would like to know Different religions view on Animals.
I wanted to add this view on "God's interview" thread but i was not aware with different religions view , like...

1) Why are animals created?

For the beutification of the earth, and for the use of Man

2) Animals have souls?
Yes

3) If yes , then what is the difference between Animal soul and Human soul?
From what I understand, the human spirit is more similar to God's, and also has more intelligence.

4) If yes , what happens to Animals soul after death?
As far as I can find, they'll be able to go to heaven.

I guess that because they don't have the same level of intelligence, as well as that they are not held to the same laws we are, that how they will be rewarded will be different from humans.

5) Why Humans are allowed/notallowed to eat Animals?
Namely because of #1 they are here for our use and benefit, as well as for our joy and thanksgiving. so we shouldn't waste what we have, but take care of it.

PS if the last response is in bold type, it's not for any reason.

The reason I asked which one is...
There are three levels of heaven: telestial, terrestrial, and celestial, Mormon Doctrine, p. 348.
http://www.carm.org/lds/lds_doctrines.htm

Mormons believe in baptism of the dead...
Baptism for the dead, Doctrines of Salvation, Vol. II, p. 141. This is a practice of baptizing each other in place of non-Mormons who are now dead. Their belief is that in the afterlife, the "newly baptized" person will be able to enter into a higher level of Mormon heaven.
(Ibid).

I wonder then if you baptise a dead parrot?

I was just kiddin'

Telestial, terrestrial, or celestial, they'll be put in the zoo if they are wild animals.

Pet animals will be reunited with their former owners, if they too happen to come to heaven.

If pet animals do not have owners, the kingdom of God will take care of them and give them to those who want to adopt them.

Maybe you can adopt one, when you get there. There was a film called "Oh, heavenly dog" which, I believe, starred Benji. And ya just gotta believe what you see at the movies.
