Lucifer waited until Eve was in proximity of the Tree of Knowledge, then he entered what I think was Eve's favorite pet animal, the dragon, and started dialoging with her.

You don't think Lucifer stayed inside this dragon-turned-serpent, do you?

Why is there no mention of demon possession in Gen 3 in my Bible?


(I know the letter 'S' comes from the sound made by snakes, and still looks like a snake, and perhaps it was once believed that snakes could talk though possibly a different language or one hard to make out.)

It can't be tested unless you have access to that serpent. It says "the serpent", not "serpents".

For my part, I was just joking when I made the comment about singular vs. plural. I thought the OP was being tongue-in-cheek about pretending that Genesis is actually making a scientific statement about the intelligence of snakes. But maybe he was serious, I don't know.

Well, since you were joking we are finally off that red herring.

The issue I have is that people are just looking at the words of the Bible and not understanding them. There are lots of Christians in Bible-believing churches who read the Bible every day, who ought to be changing they World but for some reason they are not. The problem is, for whatever reason, they simply aren't understanding what they read.



People open Genesis and see only what they have been told they will see. They see the World created in 6 days and they see a sequence of creation.

But Genesis is absolutely packed with gems, and the snake being the most intelligent animal is usually missed.

It is noticed that some waters are above the firmament and some below, but that the stars are in the firmament is also often missed. If that were not so then the waters above the firmament would distort the image of the stars so it would not be possible to make out much detail using a telescope.

The Hubble Space Telescope gives better pictures than any terrestrial telescope largely because it is so much closer. Also because it is below the firmament it needs a rain cover for the main aperture:

Pretty obvious stuff and all there in the Bible thousands of years before science needed it.

Matthew 10 v16: 'Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.'

So the New Testament backs up the Old Testament as snakes are given as the prime example of wisdom in Matthew.

Again, if humans want to study animal intelligence there is clear Biblical proof that the the animals to study are not some gibbering chimps but snakes.

Please be patient, I'm trying to understand your point.

Do you mean the Bible is inaccurate, but it doesn't matter because God was just writing literature?

This would leave a lot of Christians wrong-footed as the basis many use for living has long been that the Bible is entirely correct.
