How many of you are familiar with the Augustana Catholic Church or Anglo-Lutherans? Are they more Anglican or Lutheran theologically speaking?

Lutherans have their own tradition of high churchmanship, so just consider that FWIW. Usually, it's associated more with Scandinavian Lutherans than German Lutherans. Rudolf Otto being the most salient example of this type of pastor and theologian, who did alot for the philosophy of religion in his work The Idea of the Holy. He was a Swedish pastor who very much interested in articulating the primordial roots of religious experience, and his churchmanship was closer to what most Protestants would think of as high-church Anglicanism.

Given that Augustana petitioned to join the RCC en-masse, I think one would say they leaned more Catholic than Anglican or Lutheran, theologically.

That was what I was thinking too. One of them actually joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints after Augustana was dissolved.

Yeah, I saw that, it is very strange. Honestly, they must not have been on the most solid ground, theologically or catechistically.
