• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

1 Corinthians 1:6-10:

6 As the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you,
7 So that nothing is wanting to you in any grace, waiting for the manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
8 Who also will confirm you unto the end without crime, in the day of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 God is faithful: by whom you are called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no schisms among you; but that you be perfect in the same mind, and in the same judgment.

That's why.

NDIrish, i won't post further as that would be breaching the rules of your forum, but i believe that a schism is necessary in order to preserve the one and holy church that Christ established before his ascension. Therefore one might say that what you regard as schism is in fact reversion to orthodoxy. Just a thought.

So you admit it!
You did separate and are not part of the Catholic Church.

An amusing thought at that...to think that Henry VIII's divorce was required for "a reversion to orthodoxy"! suuuuuurrrrre.....

According to CF rules, and more specifically to OBOB rules, this is the definition of the Catholic Church:

Welcome to the One Bread, One Body Catholic Forum. This is the place to discuss issues and topics relating to the Catholic Church---that is, Christians and churches who are united under the leadership of the Roman Pontiff, and who believe in Holy Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the Magesterium of the Church. All Christians are welcome and are invited to discuss issues with us. . . .
(Emphasis added)

These rules are excerpted from here:

http://www.christianforums.com/t155768-please-read-before-posting-welcome-to-the-one-bread-one-body-forum.html

Accordingly, in my view anyway, the following post, in implying that the “Roman Catholic church” (sic), i.e., that Church under the authority and leadership of the Bishop of Rome, is somehow not preserving Catholicism, is unacceptable, at least here in OBOB.

This thread is now under staff review. I am closing it in the interim, until other staff weigh in. Stay tuned . . .
