I've struggled with this for more years than I care to count. :)

The only way I've been able to control it is by turning it over to God. I pray and ask the Lord to give me a temperate heart.

Is your anger directed at people or situations?

i agree. prayer is everything. in becoming a more mature Christian i've been able to "see" my anger differently and therefore react to it differently. whether it's taking some time to get by yourself till you calm down or reading the Bible. ask yourself how God would react in the situation. most of the time anger tends to be a wasted emotion b/c you're really no better off getting all hot under the collar about a situation that you can't change anyway!!

That's a little different than me. I'm usually directed at situations. (ie: frustration)

I think prayer is key. Ask God to give you a temperate and forgiving heart. Relying on the power of the Holy Spirit is the only thing I know of that works in this situation.

Good question keeki,

I always struggle with anger, whether it's my sister getting on my nerves or something not going the way I'd like it to go. I've been driving allot lately with my dad and he's teaching me and whenever something goes wrong on the road I always get angry with myself telling me I can do better and asking myself, "Why the heck would you turn that way when you knew it was the wrong way anyways you dumbo?" Even at night when I'm putting the farm animals away and one of them gets loose on me, it's not just you, we all get angry and it comes naturally to everybody. It's a sin and it says in the Bible that all people sin. Like Knight suggested just keep praying about it, I've been doing it and I'll be the first to admit that it's not easy, not at all but sometimes you've got to just put your foot down and say, "Y'know what I'm doing isn't cool"

Remember, you can always try to not to get angry once and a while and succeed but we all sin, and we'll all let one or two angry spells slip, but it's really not a big deal...

Yes I agree. I have been dealing with my anger even before I have become a Christian. I finally decided I had to turn my anger over to God asking for a more peaceful heart like Knight said. Prayer is an amazing thing. Pray to God about your anger and ask him to take it over if it is too much for you.

You know what my Pastor told me the definition of a human being was? A screw up. :D But it does make sense because we all sin. So don't let anger trouble you. Like PrayerWarrior said, it's not a big deal. We all get angry at some point of our lives. I will keep you in my prayers. :)

Not always, lambslove. With humans, usually that's the way it is. Jesus got angry. Furious, even. Angry enough to chase the moneychangers out of the Temple. It depends on what your anger is directed at and how you act on it. If you are angry at somebody for not getting your own way, you are being selfish. If you are angry because somebody is "stealing" God's glory for themselves, that's a righteous anger, the same kind Jesus had. It all depends on why you are angry and how you deal with it.

Righteous anger is extremely rare, even among Christians. Our anger is mostly selfish rage.

Sometimes anger burns so hot in me I feel like a furnace. I keep praying to God to help me control my wrath because simply put that is how bad it actually is. And my prayers are being answered. I thank God for this every day and ask for strengh to get through each day. Even though I do slip every now and then it happens less often. I have started to feel things differently. What can I say? I'm a work in progress.

Wasn't it Paul who spoke about anger? I forget the verse, but doesn't he say "be angry, but be careful what you do in your anger."

It's okay to be angry but we must not let our anger do a SIN. Why is beeing anger bad ?? But we must not let that anger make us Sin. Give no oppurtunity to the devil.

Be Anger but yet do not sin

Ephesians 4:26-27 - Be angry but do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger. and give no opportunity to the devil.
