Quite frankly, I believe that God would communicate with Pat Robertson before He would even acknowledge the existance of Andy Rooney. Sorry!

As a Christian, I believe that the reverse is actually true.

And I won't even apologize for it.

OK, so... I'm looking for the allegedly "anti-Christian" sentiments, and... I'm not finding them.

This is an intelligent, witty and insightful piece of writing. It is positive, not negative - and it definitely doesn't criticize Christianity.

I agree. Its criticism is directed at Robertson, not Christianity. And Robertson needs to get called out on that ludicrous statement he made.

Yah, he's definately lost it when God is chatting to him about politics. But hey, maybe his followers will figure that it's going to be such a blowout that they won't have to vote. So maybe he's doing God's work after all

Actually, doing some research (sorry - should have done this first) shows that "60 minutes" has actually had a resurgence this year in the ratings...the Jacko interview helped them quite a bit

so, I'm obviously not correct in saying it's losing viewers - but I personally would prefer the show w/o Rooney and his opinions....

I basically also lost a lot of faith in the show when Don Hewitt gave the Clintons a free pass in 1992 on the show (and later confessed he knew they were lying):

I was wrong to post what I did without the proviso - IMHO. That is the only way I feel I was wrong! God speaks to those who love him in ways that have nothing to do with hearing a voice! Before I was a Christian, Rooney's piece would not have bothered me. Now, ... well you know how I feel.

I'm not sure of everything rises to the level of bashing Christianity, but I do agree that "just for a few laughs" was a very dumb thing to say. I don't understand the point myself.
