Andre Rieu...?

Anyone ever heard of him... long haired conductor and violinist? He makes going to the classical music concert FUN....

Just saw his show on PBS and one time balloons fell down on the audience, and it so funny to see that.

Anyone been to his concert? How was it?

haha, Rieu really sucks!
I think it's true that Rieu makes going to a classical music concert fun, but only for people who usually never go to these concerts.
For classical music lovers: we're here to hear your music, not to get a stupid balloon...

I too like his show, which is why I prefer the DVDs to the CDs, he's got a great flair for showing off and getting people dancing in the crowd! I also how the ladies on stage wear big ball gowns, it's neat. I watch him on PBS a lot.

Hello,
I had an old school piano teacher. He was from a very traditional school. He was appaled when he first saw that a piano was placed on the beach for some creative classical concert. He would have been appaled if he saw Rieu concert. In general I agree with the Raindrop (I only take exception to his language). Classical music does not need visaul effects to enhace the viewing pleasure. Do you need a moonlight on the beach to enjoy listening to Moonlight sonata? In the same way, do you need visual effects when listening to "Amazing Grace"? Flying doves, perhaps? Sadly, some churches, however do that now.
