HI all!

I was just thinking the other day that it would be fun to get to know everyone a little better. I thought that one good way is for us to tell what our favorite movies are....maybe after that, our favorite music groups(we all know cygnusx1's, but I'm sure there's other music he listens to, too! :) )....then maybe our favorite (fiction) books...

So, I'll go first

Fav Movies

LOTR trilogy
Braveheart
12 Angry Men
Phantom of the Opera(the one that came out recently)
Something about Mary(I'm almost ashamed to admit it...:) )
Armegeddon
The Shining
The Princess Bride
Finding Nemo
A Toy Story(1 and 2)
Gladiator
Monty Python's The Holy Grail
Monty Python's Life of Brian

Thats a few I can think of, off the top of my head. I love movies, so I'm sure I'm leaving out a lot of movies I love!

My favorite movies are mostly the same as yours. I also add "Gods and Generals" to my list. And "When the Last Sword Is Drawn".

My favorite music? I'd be here all day. Mostly I'm into various classical (mmm, Bach), older country (I'm not into the new pop country stuff), bluegrass, jazz, classic rock, and yes... I can be a metal-head at times.

Fav Movies

Favorite movies - so many movies, so little space

In no particular order:

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
It's a Wonderful Life
Citizen Kane
To Kill a Mockingbird
Memphis Belle
All About Eve
Blazing Saddles
Apollo 13
West Side Story
Some Like it Hot
Steel Magnolias
Lethal Weapon
Gallipoli
Rear Window
Animal House
When Harry Met Sally (the older my daughter gets, the more she reminds me of the character Sally)
The First Wives Club
Backdraft
Armageddon
The Siege

there are many others I truly enjoy - but my list was more than long enough. The above movies I will watch anytime I see them on the tv menu - even if I start in the middle (I've seen most so many times that I don't lose anything by missing the beginning).

I love talking about stuff like this! It is so interesting to see who has the same taste in movies, music, etc.

Movies (You'll wish you hadn't gotten me started):

The Patriot (I love this movie and cry every time)

Pride and Prejudice (the six hour version with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle)

Gods and Generals (Stonewall Jackson is one of my heroes and I cry during this movie too)

The Matrix (the first one)

The Christmas Shoes (I sob buckets. The sequal is on CBS this Sunday! I've never seen it!)

The Sound of Music

The King and I

White Christmas (my brother hates these three, "Chick flicks!")

Sense and Sensibility

Master and Commander

The In-laws (the old one. . .but we have tv-guardian to take out the language. other than that, it is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen)

The Princess Bride (I love that movie! "You killed my father. . .prepare to die!")

LOTR Trilogy

Saving Private Ryan (this movie always makes me remember the sacrifices that others have made for my freedom. My eyes are fountians during this one. once again, we have tv guardian.)

Chariots of Fire

Persuasion (PBS)

Three Days

The Incredibles (I don't usually go for the animated ones, but this is great!)

The Hiding Place

Fiddler on the Roof

This is only a few. I'm sure I'll post more later, though. I'll put in the music, too.

Erin,

had to cut and paste these. All of these I listen to, too! We certainly seem to have some of the same taste in music. I haven't heard of most of the other bands, but to be honest...I've lost touch with some of the alternative/punk bands of recent times... I still love my old stuff though.

Heehee! Cool!

I don't know if I could call them punk though. I don't really like "punk" music too much; It's too...uhm...I don't know I just dont like it. :p And I'm not into the punk scene at all.
