Peace in Christ.
The Son of God comes to give us an understanding. He opens up the Scriptures to our hearing ears....and we are take heed on how we hear so that we may be given more knowledge.
We…His people…are to hear His voice as He interprets the Scriptures so that we may understand in our hearts.
The “sign of the Son of man” is the light that shines in our hearts when we hear His voice. This light that arises is the witness of God about His Son. He authenticates the Son who speaks to us with His arising light in our darkened hearts.
The message: “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” We are to hear the voice of the Son speaking to us from Heaven.
2Pe 1:17-20
(17) For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
(18) And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
This is our “holy mount”…the holy rising of the “sun” in our once darkened hearts.
(19) We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star (morning star) arise in your hearts:
(20) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
It is the “sunrise” that arises in our very own hearts when we hear the voice of the Son from Heaven as He interprets the Scriptures. It is our personal witness of God within us of His Son speaking to us and whom we are to hear (believe). The witness of God is greater.
We hear the Word of Truth…the good news of our salvation…and believe and are sealed with the Holy Spirit of the promise of an age-lasting life.
Eph 1: KJV
(12) That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
(13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
The 144,000 (the elect) are His people who hear the Word of Truth as spoken by the Son. They hear in belief and are sealed.
Notice how the angel (messenger) ascends from the “east”…that is, the sunrise…the bright and morning star. The “angel” has the message from God: that this is His Son speaking to us and we are to hear (believe) Him.
Rev 7:2-4 KJV
(2) And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
(3) Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
John HEARD the number of them which are sealed. We HEAR the Word of Truth…the good news of our salvation…and are sealed with the Holy Spirit of the promise.
(4) And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
This sign of the PRESENCE of the Son of man shines out of the “east”….the sun rising in our own hearts.
It shines EVEN UNTO the “west”….where the sun had gone down. This light that shines in us also will shine from us to the people of the world who are outside sitting in deep spiritual darkness (the “west”).
Mat 24:27
(27) For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming (PRESENCE) of the Son of man be.
The light shines in our hearts….and we reflect the face of Jesus Christ to them. And they will “see” the Son of man.
We shine to them the light of the knowledge of the glory of God by doing so.
2Co 4:6-7 KJV
(6) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
(7) But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
We are to believe in the light so that we may BECOME the children (sons) of light…so that we may shine His light to the people of the outside world who are in deep darkness. If we do not believe, then the light goes away....the "sun" goes down ...as Jesus did "depart" and did hide Himself from the unbelievers.
Joh 12:35-37
(35) Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
(36) While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be (BECOME) the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
(37) But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
The sign of the Son of man “appears”….that is, SHINES…in heaven (in those who are citizens of heaven now in this earth).
The unbelievers of Him (the tribes of the earth) will mourn when they “see” the Son of man coming in the “clouds” of heaven. This is the "sign of Jonah" as they will see great multitude of people believe in the Son. They will see the effect of the Son upon the "Ninevites"...that is, the people of the outside world who will see and believe in the Son.
These “clouds” are the great multitude of people of the outside world who will “see” Him in us as we manifest His life in our mortal flesh (the revealing of the Son of man to them).

(30) And then shall appear (SHINE) the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
He shall send His messengers with a great sound of a trumpet….the Spirit of Truth…and they shall gather together His elect (the 144,000) from the 4 winds from one end of heaven to the other.

(31) And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
His “angels”…His messengers…that He sends out are the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers of the Word of Truth. We shall come from the “4 winds”…from every wind of doctrine (the 4 winds) that is being preached by those who are deceiving us.

(12) For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
(13) Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
(14) That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
(15) But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
(16) From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Don’t let the “sun” go down upon your wrath…for some will become angry at the hearing of what the Son speaks to them.

(26) Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath
Don’t become a messenger of the devil by speaking evil against what one hears. Don't be a "devil's advocate"
(27) Neither give place to the devil.
Remember how Cain became very angry and his face fell.

(5) But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
(6) And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
Sin lies at the “door” of the mouth of those who become angry. The wrath of man does not work the righteousness of God. If we do well, we shall be accepted.
(7) If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
Be swift to hear the Word of Truth…and slow to speak…slow to wrath.

(18) Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
(19) Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
