The words are "dead works".
Not "dead words".

Dead works, in this context, is sin.
That would mirror Acts 2:38's very first instructions on righteousness and conversion.
1. Turn from sin.
2. Get baptized, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.
3. Receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

And I believe it means the works of keeping the Law , and the words DEAD WORKS are not found in

Heb 6:1 and in Heb 9:14 and Heb 6:2 , BAPTISMS are also to be gone , explain baptism , in Heb 6:4

Heb 6:1 and Heb 6:2 and in Heb 9:14
That would mean that the blood of Christ has purged us from the Law .
That makes no sense.
Our past sins were purged by the blood of Christ.

I can't agree with any of your conclusions.

your call and salvation is nothing to be right ON , Rom 10;9 and 10 and Eph 2:8 !

Parsing the words of a verse does no change the verse's meaning.

Only if the Translation is bad ,

And I have at my disposal , at least 15 or 20 translation and the Greek words are the same , BUT translate

it differently and I stick to the KJV , ONLY and their someone who says , they have a different answer ?

And if you try what I have done you will learn the Cases , Tenes , and Moods and Hebrew only has 2 tenses

Prefect and Imperfect and they have verbs ,called QAL , and HIPHAL , and i can not find my list , sorry

I would rather deal with the "Spirit" of the words, instead of the "letters".
I too, stick with the KJV.

Hi Dan,

In order to understand Hebews 6-1 you have to read Hebrews 5 since “therefore” means “for that reason”. The last part of chapter 5 speaks about the necessity to become mature in Christ rather than remain immature in the faith.

The dead works refer to those that immature Christians do that are not prepared by God in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10) but rather are done for one’s edification. We need to our works for God not for us.
