Genesis 14:1

... Amraphel was king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Kedorlaomer king of Elam and Tidal king of Goyim,

I know that some of the cities mentioned in Genesis have become modern archaeological sites, for example Harran and Ur.

Do we know the locations of Shinar, Ellasar, Elam and Goyim?

I think Shinar has been found. It is supposed to be the location of the tower of Babel. That would put it in northern Iraq.

"Goyim" just means "nations" and is probably not a specific city.

The other 2 I have no idea.

I read today that Shinar is likely some area between the Tigris and Euphrates. People believe that because, like you said, of its association with Babel.

Even more likely, Elam must have been along Iran's coast on the Persian Gulf. So why would Kedorlaomer, a king in present day Iran, want to come to the Dead Sea Valley. Maybe for salt?
