Ancient Attire Game

If you lived in ancient times - anywhere at all,
what would you wear?

There were lots of different clothing styles that are no longer in use today. Have you ever enjoyed looking at the way people dressed before?

Just post any type of attire that is not commonly used today.


I'll start with this:

high-button shoes

I would wear an Egyptian skirt with leather sandals that lace up to your calves and a cool short tunic. And lots of eye makeup. LOL

A warm woolen cape with pockets

Waxed moustache and a derby hat, and a cane.

big beautiful hats with feathers and flowers

I sorta like the Roman armor....

Or the Assyrian Archer outfit, whatever they wore.

oh, yeah, and mink stoles and fox collars.

I like the idea of wearing loose-fitting garments, like tunics, and the like.

I love wearing clothes that are not fashion-dictated.

I love studying history, so I'd want to try tons of things!

I would like to wear beautiful ball gowns with ringlets in my hair just like the women who spent their nights at balls

Seems that fashions don't change, eh?

What clothing style is in vogue today that wouldn't have been worn in ancient times? I can't figure what it could be. Can you?

Consider Catholic priest vestments - they're from ancient Rome!
