You keep saying that.
I read the history of the man and the place where he lived when he lived there.
Did I say that? Did I say that?
No, but the man did or at least that was the law of the land where he ruled.
Yes. Actually the guy who responded admitted that he does not expect to understand God logically although he spun it a bit to make a statment no one makes in any field of knowledge, that is, if one does not understand perfectly and exhaustively, one cannot understand at all. I mean maybe I got him wrong but if so, the poster just needs to tell us that he/she understands God as the Calvinist explains Him and we could ask questions, the obvious ones, to show that this is not so.

Ah. Left brain at work.
You are dividing it down to individuals rather than looking at the culture as a whole. These are observations for entire people groups rather than single persons.
People are not left or right handed as a whole. If the theory does not work for individuals, it does not work for the group. Some things only work if the individual indicate it is true. Reminds me of the government telling the populace that it is going to feed the hungry as a group but no one individual will get a meal.

I know it is rare but there are those who come to the Word of God with open minds, like the Bereans, wanting God to teach them. As I admit, these are very rare but they do exist. And they are prepared to jettisone anything that God shows them was a false assumption. Those are really rare. The book is more than literature to them. It is the Word of God to them.

Something else has occured to me. The assumption here is that there is a division between analytical thoughts and faithfulness. That is, being faithful to anyone is at risk if someone is analytical. This is incorrect. The problem is never that the thoughts are anayltical in themselves. The problem is which data or information does one choose to believe and dwell upon. Paul the Apostle was extremely analytical and yet remained faithful. Same for John. Their writings are deep and are the subject of whole courses in college. So our suggestions boil down to encouraging the person to focus on different information if they want to remain faithful.
