Have been trying to work out what's been going on here, and it's all become such a mess

Am writing this so we can start to organise what's been going on here. While everything is so messy, it won't get better.

I believe this started when Time created thread after thread about Refuge. He felt he was doing the right thing. Those threads brought *a lot* of people into CC to debate both his thoughts on it. It also brought people into CC that hadn't been here before. Father Rick and Belinda then signed up as members.

Meanwhile, many members felt we'd seen a sudden influx of liberal Christians. But they were here to debate Time - that's the thing. They're not around so much anymore.

Things calmed down, and then Father Rick's thread was approved and it kicked off worse than ever. Then threads were started about fundamentalists, and it all kicked off in that direction, too. Then a thread was started about how the problem is legalism, which kicked off yet another round of fights.

I think there's been *so* much misunderstanding and fear. People have battles going on with one person, and we're all fighting battles with groups of people but it's all been so insidious and crazy, it stopped being linear a while back. The confusion just makes it even messier.

The thing is, none of this is of God. For the most part, we're Christians, and that *has* to mean something. If that doesn't, that we worship the Lord has to. We need to stop gossiping, and we need to stop harming one another. This drama has to end, not for our sakes but for God's.

We need to just put all this behind us and move on. We need to move on. Truly. No more threads started about people; no more threats; no more gossip; no more flaming; no more snide comments. We need to treat each other so much better than this. We need to see Jesus in one another, because He lives in us, and we in Him.

We all feel we know who is to "blame", but we're probably all wrong. CC at the moment feels so very dark, and we need to let the light stream in. We need to actively and consciously give this forum back to God. We all need to ask His forgiveness and we all need to be so much kinder to one another.

At this point, it doesn't even matter who's to "blame". We all have to forgive and forget. We have to, because as things stand, they're unbearable. We need to see an increase in forgiveness and love and kindness. Please, let's try.

I would also ask that anyone who doesn't/hasn't belong/ed to CC not post. Thanks.

God desires reconciliation, doesn't He?

I suppose one thing to start off with is to give your neighbor "positive" intent in what they're posting, whey they're here, etc.... instead of automatically assuming the worst.

Hi GM. That's close, but not quite right. What got this started was when Time began his project to change the FAQ's have it say a Christian worships Jesus, or agrees that "Jesus is God".

There was an uproar about it in Wiki/Rules Discussion. The libs went nuts about it and began to harrass Time. It carried over into IIDB, and the members there began posting here.

Suddenly, WWMC members become CC members.

CC members leave, because we have no leadership willing to keep the wolves away.

Just like real sheep, the members have scattered.

If we could get a REAL leader, one who is willing to fight off the wolves for us, the problems would go away.

Remember, EVERYTHING was blamed on Time. He is no longer here. The problems remain. It should be clear to everyone that the problems had nothing to do with Time, but the influx of wolves who were and are allowed to debate and flame and devour the sheep.

The fact of the matter is, if we all hold hands, and sing Kumbaya, IIDB will get bored and leave us alone.

People think IIDB has nothing to do with this, but gossip at IIDB is the FUEL that feeds the fire.

No, I don't think anyone should be blaming Time. And am truly sorry you feel let down by CC staff, Auntie. Am sorry.

Can we forgive the people we feel have wronged us? Once CC is at peace again, anyone here for the wrong reasons will drift away. Similarly, we may be surprised at who sticks around.

But first we need to make CC peaceful again, and we need to forgive in order to do that. We need to put the Lord ahead of ourselves again.

Staff is limited in what they can do by the rules they must operate by - they are the equivalent of the police department.

If the forum needs leaders, how do we want to go about doing this? Is it a matter of different rules to be enforced?

2. The experiment of self governance has failed. There is no authority here. No clear vision. No leadership.

Good grief......this was the one place I felt comfortable posting outside of my own religous forum, a place where we could get along as conservatives, put the religous icons aside and come together on conservative issues.........

How ugly to see that other people actually use that IIDB forum to gossip, backstab, etc............then come here and put their pious christian hats on it's the behavior of little children people.......

The problem with what you're doing Auntie is that you are posting things out of context. You jumped up and down and screamed bloody murder when somebody posted a message from Time's wife, but you have no problem doing the same sort of thing yourself. Go read some of your posts in response to that and have a good, long look in the mirror dear.

makes me sick.........I'm not for going to other websites to gossip....that IIDB site is sickening to begin with, why do people go there other than to start and talk horse pucky to begin with??? I have to watch my mouth when I'm angry, I tend to sound like a truck driver...(bleep bleep bleep)right now a few chioce words are going through my mind about this......
