  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

There has been too much tension between the Orthodox and Catholic members on this site as of late. What happened to the good old days?:( Well anyway, I would just like to apologize for anything un-Christian said to any Catholics on this site in the TAW. Remember everybody, we have the most important thing in common.

I ask everyone to PRAY about this. There is something to this that is not from God. We must remain unified and fight the real enemy. I don't find it coincidental that many Protestant-Catholic feuds have now been followed by Catholic-Orthodox fights over NOTHING -- when normally we support and defend each other all over the place!!!!!!!

I agree that we should be respectful of one another and seek unity where it may be possible between us...it is better to focus on what we have in common rather than that which separates us..perhaps a general decision to not respond to antagonistic posting would be beneficial to us all. In other words, don't get baited into debating.

Amen, amen, amen.

As Fr. Patrick Henry Reardon (Orthodox) has pointed out, the Catholic Church is under heavy assault from within, and if not for the current conservative and orthodox Pope, could have been in dire straits by now. We need to support him and pray for a godly successor.

We should all pray for the unity of the Church and for reconciliation. Neither one of us, Catholic or Orthodox, are without fault. We must defend the Apostolic Traditions of our common heritage against the attacks of the Evil One.

We all know that God wants our unity. There are many things which make this difficult. But I think that the most important and greatest difficulty is the Pride in our human hearts. If we all prayed for the gift of Humility for ourselves and for everyone else, we would glorify God tremendously and the 'insurmountable problems' could be overcome.

Kyrie, eleison.

Let's forget the past and start anew ... putting aside all grudges ... and forgiving each other in Christ in preparation for the celebration of His Glorious Resurrection. Let us call one another brothers, because in Heaven we will all be brothers and sisters in Christ.

So let us live in Christ's Eternal Presence.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us and save us.

Two Sundays from this Sunday is Forgiveness Sunday. Let's not wait two more weeks. May God forgive us all and have mercy on us. I forgive too.
