make biscuit dough, cut out holes, simmer boiled sweets, fill the holes with the sweet mixture...excellent activity for all adults on rainy days, especially bored ones who nick all their kids sweets...like me.

Edinburgh castle has a lot of modern stained glass in its War Memorial, I'm going there next Saturday so I'll get some pictures, it's interesting

My favourite window is the Rose Window in Notre Dame in Paris. I think what impressed me so much was seeing my 11 year old's reaction- he was just full of awe. We sat down and I explained all about why we have such windows and he then insisted on going round every window in the Church, identifying the stories.
