The sin of Sodom and Gomorrah is a warning to us and an example.
2 Pet 2:6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, having made them an example unto those that should live ungodly;
Jude 1:7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
What should we take from this? Don't live in sexual immorality.

Heb 3:17 Now with whom was He angry forty years? wasit not withthose who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness?
Heb 4:9-11There remains therefore a Sabbath keeping for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
What example of disobedience in the wilderness is he referring to?
Ezek 20:13 "Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes; they despised My judgments, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them’; and they greatly defiled My Sabbaths. Ezek 20:16 "because they despised My judgments and did not walk in My statutes, but profaned My Sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols.
Ezek 20:21 "Notwithstanding, the children rebelled against Me; they did not walk in My statutes, and were not careful to observe My judgments, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them’; but they profaned My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them and fulfill My anger against them in the wilderness.
Ezek 20:24 "because they had not executed My judgments but had despised My statutes, profaned My Sabbaths, and their eyes were fixed on their fathers’ idols.
Ezek 22:8 "You have despised My holy things and profaned My Sabbaths.
Ezek 23:38 "Moreover they have done this to Me: They have defiled My sanctuary on the same day and profaned My Sabbaths.
What should we take from this? Remember to keep the Sabbath holy.
