An avatar request.

Hey folks,

I'm looking to make a new avatar because I've been informed this current one has a spelling error and I don't like some of the slogans. I didn't make it myself and I've tried to figure out how to do it but nowhere seems to help. So if anyone could make me a new one (1000 blessings) or tell me what to do (250 blessings, 1500 for both), I'd appreciate it.

OK, here's what I'd like;

Have a look at my current avatar. It's flashing slogans that flickered onscreen in a similar manner on U2's ZooTV tour. I'd love something new like that (flickering at the same/similar speed) with a maximum size of 100x100 pixels, containing the following slogans (in order);

Everything you know is wrong
Do not accept what you cannot change
Change what you cannot accept
Contradiction is balance
Nobody is promised a tomorrow
Rebellion is packaged
beLIEve
(They can be in all capitals or only the first letter capitalised, I'm fine with either. Well, that's apart from the last, which must be 'beLIEve')

If possible, I would appreciate it if the last one does this;

Appears white --> LIE flickers to red and stays that colour for the rest --> 'be' and 've' vanish, return, vanish --> Back to 'Everything you know is wrong'

If that's not possible, that's alright.

I would be VERY appreciative if someone could do that for me. An explanation of how I can make similar ones in future would also be very appreciated. Thank you!

I don't know if this is any help. I found these on a animation site, they are fast to read and have some of the slogans you listed, but will have to be resized. It has a beLIEve in one as well

How long do we have to make this? I can, but it may take a couple of days. How fast do you want it to read? I can make it run fast like it is now, or slow it down some. Which one do you want?

Here you go brother. I took some artistic license, let me know if it is all right.


I use Babarosa 3.6 GIF animator maker, it can be downloaded here free:

Few instructions for Babarosa:

1. Make all your images in a .bmp editor (for quality) such as MS Paint

2. Start up Babarosa, input the dimensions of your images (all the same, usually) and upload the files by browsing for them.

3. The images will automatically line up in Babarosa in the order in which you loaded them. drag-and-drop if this is not correct.

4. Remove, Duplicate options by right-clicking each image.

5. Click the small red clock button to change duration of each image.

6. "Save as .GIF Image" (It's green, under save)

7. Go to Animation, and then preview to preview.

Hmm ... random question - when using MS Paint to do the .bmp, how do I get text to centre or go to the right? The function doesn't seem to be there ...

I don't think there is a way, eye-balling it usually is good enough for me.

Ah, shame the function's not there ... suppose I'll have to go find some program that does have it!
