If god created the world in the full and complete knowledge of exactly what would happen then I have only the illusion of control because control would imply that I could choose between two actions.

But you can. You can choose to call off work and play video games or go to work. You can go drive your car into a brick wall or drive it to the store.

If I could see the future and see you do that, it does not change your choices at all. I can just see what choice you are going to make.

If I could see the future and see you do that, it does not change your choices at all. I can just see what choice you are going to make.

Let's look at the first one. If the future is open an unknowable I can choose to go to work or stay at home and these would be real choices not just the illusion of choice. If the future is set then I could not really choose, I would do whatever it was I was always going to do and just feel like I had a choice. In reality there was no choice made because the other option was never available. If the future is known then the future is set. Choice is an illusion. Now it doesn't necessarily matter if you know bits of the future, but the idea that an all powerful deity that knew every atom of detail of the future was the one who created the world... Well that means that not only are there no choices by anyone in that world but that everything that ever happens was intended by the creator.
