That is error, pure and simple. We follow the Word of God as written and lean not unto our own understanding as God warns against. He anoints people to teach and through them, His Word and through other sisters and brothers in Christ, by His Holy Spirit, He speaks truth to our hearts.
Homosexuality is breeding self-appointed prophets!
John 3:16 is where it's at, without anyone reading into it! What are "older churches" ? The Body of Christ since the beginning has put forth the gospel as stated in John 3:16!! There is no older Church.
The Bible is what I believe. My opinions are all based on it! So your accusation rings hollow and rolls off my back...
I have no former theology such as Catholicism that I am renouncing in order to believe God's Word. There are no former beliefs that influence the pure Word to my heart. I was blessed to be raised on it!
Hate to burst your bubble but your theology is new...the "older churches" are The Roman Catholic and The Orthodox Christian Churches.
Your new theology came to be from mass literacy, not from some revelation from God. So what you post is your opinion not God's.
Actually I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. It started with Him...way before Catholicism. My opinions come from Jesus and His way!
Thanks, anyway!

Great Post! God has been pressing me about this very issue.First off, I want to say that I am thrilled to see the defense of christian values and ideals at work within these forums.
My appeal is to fundamentalists, who in most ways I am like-minded and agree with. I want each and every one of you, who defend our faith, to please remember our place. While we may often be on the front lines of our battle for Christ, we have to remember our place in that battle.
We are called to witness for Christ, right? I can sum that up in 2 different statements.
1. We are to be a witness to the truth of the gospel, and the truth of scripture. In doing so we may have to defend it.
2. As witnesses, we not only outwardly witness for Christ, we are also to emulate and radiate Him in our works.
That being said, we should all be persistent in re-evaluating how we handle these situations, as we must hold fast to the truth, yet still radiate compassion and love for everyone, regardless of how misguided or against Christ we think they are.
The reason being? Because we are not put here to judge. If we condemn someone in our hearts, it is the same as if we threw the rocks ourselves. Therefore we should be very careful not to let ourselves get carried away while we are defending the truth. God is the one who deals with rejection of His word, we are just to preach, teach, and live it.
Here's a scenario:
You are volunteering at a hospital. The first thing you do is go over your list of duties for the day, and it merely says: Visit with patients in room 1 and room 2. So you're on your way, you enter room 1. You see a sickly man lying there, and he is dying of AIDS. He tells you that he misses his wife, and that he'd do anything to play with his children one last time. How would you treat this man?
Moving on, you go to the next room, #2. You see a sickly man lying in bed, dying of AIDS. He tells you that he's been misunderstood and rejected his entire life, because of his sexuality, and that he'd do anything just to be happy one last time.
How would you treat this man?
As a Christian, the answers to both should be exactly the same. With compassion and love. The truth of God brings enough of its own condemnation, it does not need our help in doing so. We are here to love each other, and even if I have to write a sticky note to stick to each and every one of our foreheads, I will make sure that we all understand it.

And is mass literacy a bad thing? Isn't it better for people to be able to accompany the teachings given to them by church leaders in hand with what they can read themselves? That ability in itself helps avoid people getting caught up in the "Jesus told me to tell you to.." syndrome.
Mass literacy changed Christians beliefs and Christianity. I am not saying it's bad--but to pick up a Bible with Jesus' words in red and saying, "This is the truth." is off base.
Word of Faith theology is from modern Western capitalism~it is certainly not something that existed during Biblical times.
Wrong. It is more akin to the faith of the first churches than any.
If you want to believe that-it's your prerogative-

Well without faith one cant please God and Jesus said after Thomas's doubts, blessed are those who believe and have not seen.Mass literacy changed Christians beliefs and Christianity. I think what might be being suggested here is that one has a responsibility to study and grow in understanding, wanting to avoid the Christian cliche syndrome.Well without faith one cant please God and Jesus said after Thomas's doubts, blessed are those who believe and have not seen.
Sorry but I think you are judging movements of Christianity. The whole story of God and His people is about faith. Its knowing what God's purpose is, Jesus said ask and receive, if this is modern western Christianity its back to what Jesus properly taught.
Furthermore I cant let your comment go unchallenged, if you dont believe the words of Christ are the truth you must be a non-believer.

Is the Bible really full of half truths and lies mixed with alittle truth?
