An announcement - I was wrong.

Terribly wrong. How could I be so wrong?

It came like the light on the road to Damascus.

Either God is real, or He isn't.

If He is real, then He can do anything. Including giving us a completely true and accurate account of the beginning of the universe.

And that is what He has done. It's there in black and white in Genesis 1-3.

God created the world in six literal days. There can be no other valid and consistent interpretation. Whatever apparent discoveries we may make, nothing can trump the revelation of God in His Word, the Scriptures.

So I have to announce that I have been terribly wrong. Young Earth Creationism is the only rational position for a Christian to take.

I just wonder how many of the evidences I've considered to be junk before turn out to be real, for those with eyes of faith to see.

I may even have to change my screen name.

Glad you saw the light. Of course the standard model today felt some shocks as well

"

"In particle physics there is the Standard Model which describes how the fundamental building blocks of matter behave and interact with each other," explained Dr Falk Harris. "And this model tells us that neutrinos should have no mass. So the fact that we have now got independent measurements of neutrinos saying that they must have mass, means that this Standard Model is going to have be revised or superseded by something else."

I have to admit that some of the same things have been plaguing my mind as well, Karl. Due to a number of discussions I've had recently I'm going to have to join you in renouncing my support of evolutionary theory. Between irreducibly complex mechanisms and the improbability of life evolving naturally, I can no longer with good conscience support something I know to be untrue.

A great example of how science works.

Experiments bring in new data that invalidates a model

The model is changed to explain this new evidence.

You talk as if this was a problem for science, but this is science

You know Dannager, it's funny you should say this today. Because, I woke up thinking... why have I been blindly following a literal translation of the Bible all along when I should've just been taking biology 101 more to heart?

I know you mean that as an april fool joke but it's actually a darn good question. Why have you blindly been following a literal translation of the bible? It's not a bad thing to ask questions.

I know I'm an atheist and my comments might not mean much, but Jesus is already is in your heart. Shouldn't you direct Biology 101 more towards your brain?
