  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

That was the reasoning behind the inquisition. If the Jews are damned to hell in any case, why not torture them into converting? It is better then eternal torment certainly?

I was thinking more along the lines of speaking to them.

I find Christians are often mysteriously selective about which impending problems are God's will requiring no actions, and which require we move heaven and earth.... or at least duck.

We definitely have faults.

However, preaching at the person while not caring about them physically and being careless with their lives will fall on deaf ears. They will hear hypocrisy. What they hear is "I care more for their own about being inconvenienced than I do about your life." That is the message that will be received.

I can understand that.

I dont see it as a character flaw. Just as an example of un-examined or incoherent theologizing.

All talk no action. Society has taught us for a long time now that we should be silent. We worry more about what others think than about our salvation.

Wait, three posts ago just talking was all you wanted to do, what changed in the past few minutes?

I'm talking about Christians in general. We all know that I talk to much.

The FAA is stepping up penalties for bad behavior....

The head of the Federal Aviation Administration signed an order Wednesday to enforce a "zero-tolerance" policy against passengers who engage in threatening or disruptive behavior on commercial airline flights.
The FAA says there has been "a disturbing increase in incidents where airline passengers have disrupted flights with threatening or violent behavior. These incidents have stemmed both from passengers' refusals to wear masks and from recent violence at the U.S. Capitol."

FAA Administrator Stephen Dickson's order says the agency will no longer issue warnings to passengers refusing to wear masks or acting in a belligerent or threatening manner. Instead, the agency "will pursue legal enforcement action against any passenger who assaults, threatens, intimidates, or interferes with airline crew members." Penalties could include fines up to $35,000 and jail time.
