' America the Beautiful"

I am sharing this because I think that it is important , and very much true
Some of you may have alread read it your seen it elsewhere , but for those of you that have not.., here it is....




America the Beautiful,
or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims pride;
I'm glad they'll never see.

Babies piled in dumpsters,
Abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty,
your house is on the sand.

Our children wander aimlessly
poisoned by cocaine,
Chossing to indulge their lusts,
when God has said abstain.

From sea to shining sea,
our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God's love
and a need to always pray.

So many worldly preachers
tell lies about our Rock,
Saying God is going broke
so they can fleece the flock.

We've kept God in our temples,
how callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool,
and Heaven is His throne.

We've voted in a government
that's rotting to the core,
Appointed Godless Judges who
throw reason out the door,

Too soft to place a killer
in a well deserved tomb,
But brave enough to kill a
baby before he leaves the womb.

You think that God's not angery,
that out lands a moral slum?
How much longeer will he wait
before his judgment comes?

How are we to face our God,
from whom we cannot hide?
What then is left for us to do,
but stem this evil tide?

If we who are His children,
will humbly turn and pray;
Seek His holy face and
mend our evil way:

Then God will hear from Heaven
and forgive us of our sins,
He'll heal our sickly land
and those who live within.

But, America the Beautiful,
if you don't then you will see
A sad but Holy God withdraw
His hand from Thee.

That was really cool, Phillip. I haven't heard it, probably because I'm Australia, and if I read that title in a forward sent to me by email, I'd throw it out.

Thanks for sharing. But it makes you wonder, was America ever beautiful, or are people just getting sentimental in our old age?

Personally I don't think America is any worse than any other place. Why worry about whtas wrong? We know what we need to be doing, LETS DO IT. Lets do the right thing, and start reaching out to people. Thats what I say.

Wow.

That poem is Strong. I dont know too much about america, but from that poem I can see that some facts that I did know about america are true. It is sad to see how people do as they please not knowing or understanding the purpose of life.

Agreed PaladinValer, personally I say quit your witch hunting, there is a lot less wrong than you might think. You are looking in all the wrong places. WHY LOOK AT WHATS WRONG? God says to dwell on what is good and pure and faithful, to DWELL on them, not to rabble rouse about how this is bad or thats bad. What did that ever accomplish? Anger is fine, it makes a point and then leaves you to do something about it. But the only way to proceed is not in looking down on America, but rather in lifting it up.

We should be wary of being like the pharisees, where we heap burdens on people's backs not lifting a finger to help... We know what is wrong, it is obvious, you can wake up and see it, but it takes a person of true character to see through that and stand up for what is right. Before you go posting doom and gloom I would highly recommend you consider whether you have done anything to alleviate it? Cause if you can't come up with a good answer than you are quite frankly part of the problem and even worse than someone who is simply lost....

And to continue, don't you think God might find it insulting to be called fickle? God does not change his ways, he wishes well for all and we bring these problems only upon ourselves, if America falls it will not be because God "removed his hand of protection" no it will fall for being arrogant and full of pride, God is not so easily swayed as to give one way or another just cause people aren't living up.... If that were the case, we wouldn't be sitting here typing this out right now, and there would be no Christians, cause there would have never been any Jesus. God loves, he does not turn away from us, he promised he would not, and I wouldn't believe in him if I ever thought he had gone back on a promise.

Your theorizing and conjecture as to the will of God, is obvious of a sad lack of judgement of seeing what is right in front of you. God loves, he does not revoke it, he does not turn his back on people, and in our darkest hour he opens his arms ever wider, if we are in fear of anything its people like the writer of that poem who would gladly shut out the warmth of God's love in order to forward their perverted view of him.... Tread lightly on gloom, God has no part in it. I believe full of Grace and truth, ring a bell...

I'm making a legitimate comment about something far more pervading, I could care less about whether or not America is great, I care about what the poem was saying about God. Read my post, its right there. Who cares about America, its hardly the issue, we are Christians, borders don't apply, if there is a problem with the Church in America, there is a problem with the church. Like I said before keep your witch hunting to yourself, Christianity has nothing to do with politics or political boundaries, it has something to do with Jesus. Instead of acting like America has some big problem, why don't you focus on something that actually matters, in a hundred years no one is gonna care about whether or not America was this that or the other thing, but Jesus will still be here, and that is something worth pursuing.

America has a WHOLE lot more people than Australia does, this means there are more people who are exposed outside the kingdom of God. The ratio of christians to non-christians, I do not know It could be the same, but back in high school we were tought that America has influence on other countries, Australia being one of them.

Many influences have been a good thing like technology, health and Entertainment (movies, tv shows etc.)! But when there is the good, there is always the bad. and I would sadly say that Television is one of those things that influence Australia the most. I say this because I can see people who have not been to America, but live as though they were influenced by America.

One example of this, is that the Aboriginal culture who were in Australia here first before White man had settled. This was several hundred of years ago. But even today, There are some Aboriginal people, ethnic, and asian (mainly youth/teens) who feel outcast today and have formed their own groups or a gang type formation, these groups have been influenced by things we see on TV.

DO NOT Think I am a racict for saying this, I AM Half Italian, and Half Philipino.

This is just one example I can think of but, These influences may have been misinturpreted by people who are influenced if you know what I mean. e.g. A TV show which is made for pure entertainment factor may have been addopted by confused, idol worshipping people . .

so in the end, I am saying that America is a Big country and yet, not all countries are perfect. Thats why we are here as christians, to help change this. With the Lords Help!
