I am not at liberty to reveal that information at this time.

I can only say that it has to do with one of the most popular head coverings in recent times.
Ah yes. The Cult In The Hat.

What does that make Amazon? The "anti-Christian" bookstore?

No, it makes them both book sellers that can choose which books they want to sell and which they don’t. They have that freedom in this country. The government hasn’t become fascist and demanded that they sell these certain books.

Amazon has answered the senators:

Amazon has made the decision recently to remove books from its catalog that frame transgender and other LGBTQ identities as mental illnesses, The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.

The move came after four Republicans — Sens. Marco Rubio (Fla.), Mike Lee (Utah), Mike Braun (Ind.) and Josh Hawley (Mo.) — sent a letter on Feb. 24 to chief executive Jeff Bezos questioning why “When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment” was no longer available on Amazon platforms, including Kindle and Audible.

As to your specific question about When Harry Became Sally, we have chosen not to sell books that frame LGBTQ+ identity as a mental illness,” Amazon said in the letter to the senators, obtained by the outlet.

From my understanding the book is a popular (rather than scholarly) discussion of possible Christian responses to gender dysphoria.

Gender dysphoria is still classified as a mental disorder in the DSM V. Without such a designation it would likely impact insurance coverage for treatment.

Amazon is a private company and does not have to sell a particular book. However, I wonder if they are going to remove all scholarly works that reference gender dysphoria as a mental disorder?

If not then this does seem to be selective.

Does Amazon specialize in books of certain types to meet a particular interest? A Christian bookstore does that, which is why it has that name.

Amazon sells books they have an interest in selling like a Christian bookstore sells books they have an interest in selling. I’d be willing to bet a lot of money that there is no Christian bookstore selling the works of Christian writer John Humphrey Noyes and would probably ignore you if you tried to raise a stink to pressure them to do so. Even in their niche, there are books a Christian bookstore will choose to not sell.

Ok, then tell me which books Amazon specializes in.

An eclectic mix of different genres of books they choose to sell.

"An eclectic mix of different genres" is hardly specializing, which makes it even more suspect when they suddenly ban books of any particular genre.

Suspect of what? Selling the books they choose to sell?

Amazon can sell whatever they choose to sell, and their rationale does not have to match your rationale. They could decide to sell only books by authors whose last names end with a consonant unless the author was born in April...and it would be within their right to do so, whether you agree that it makes any sense or not.

You keep forgetting that it wasn't just Amazon. It was also publicly funded libraries, and it was done in the name of "hate speech". It obviously had nothing to do with not being able to sell: Dr. Seuss book sales spike, dominate USA TODAY best-selling books list

Is all of your reasoning going to be copy and paste?

Perhaps some people actually are uncomfortable with racist caricatures and don't want to promote them if they can avoid it, so they choose not to do so. Isn't that called 'following your conscience'?

In this case, it's called pandering to the cancel culture.

Looks like Amazon only wants one side of issues to be heard, while banning those who say otherwise. Some would say this is fascist, but only if it was silencing their own views.
Amazon doesn't sell books that say people of African descent are sub-human. Is that also fascist of them?

That's the narrative you're being sold by those who want to manufacture controversy and stir up false outrage. Are you capable of considering a different one?

Is that so terrible? What's wrong with responding to it? Is Amazon scared of different views being expressed?

The title is not "Transgenders have a mental illness" either. So we have to look at the content. And they state it is looking at different approaches to dealing with gender dysphoria.
