What is this mythical capitalism where the "rational market participant" puts political motivation aside?Let's be honest. This really isn't about capitalism. It's not that nobody is going to buy the book. Amazon has been selling the book for three years. This was absolutely a political move. Not a move based on capitalism....

You must not live in the South...Amazon is refusing to offer its services to someone b/c they don't care for their politics.
The exact reverse is "no shoes no shirt no service" and "we reserve the right to refuse service to any customer".
Yet those are essentially "discriminatory" and de facto illegal.
Restaurants don't hang those signs in their windows any longer.
Definite double standard.
Then maybe you should vote with your keyboard and buy your books elsewhere.Let's be honest. This really isn't about capitalism. It's not that nobody is going to buy the book. Amazon has been selling the book for three years. This was absolutely a political move. Not a move based on capitalism.
I don't know if they were pressured by leftists or not. Maybe not because those that run the business are a bunch of leftists anyway.

Should any private establishment be forced to offer their services against their wishes? What's your solution here?
Should Amazon should be forced somehow to distribute and sell books they don't want to?
Evidently, that's precisely what many others are threatening to doThen maybe you should vote with your keyboard and buy your books elsewhere.
Amazon is choosing not to sell a product. Are you suggesting that they should be forced to sell it?Should any private establishment be forced to offer their services against their wishes?
If yes, then why not Amazon as well?
Again, double standard

So your claim is that Amazon banning this book few people have heard of is a political statement? Seems odd. Wouldn't they get rid of Trumps books if that were the case? Anyway, you are OK with them making decisions based on their politics correct?Let's be honest. This really isn't about capitalism. It's not that nobody is going to buy the book. No one should be forced to do or sell anything. Sure they can choose to not carry it.
This is the problem with the left. They want to FORCE people to do what they want.
Yes it was a political move. It's a virtual book burning. Just poof, gone.

We are for freedom. Sell, don't sell. Make the choice.
The cancel culture is the lefts way of ridding society of things they find objectionable. Cancel Dr. Suess, cancel this book. Cancel Mark Twain, cancel bakeries, cancel florists, cancel speakers. Cancel you tubers, cancel platforms.
It's a warning to those who don't see it. You on the left are okay with it. You support it.
And once you can force people to sell or not sell, then you control what information is out there. Remove peoples access to information and Ideas. Only provide access to information you want them to have access to.

You have determined this based on what methodology?
The hyperbole is getting thick.
So Amazon did nothing but exercise their right to not sell something, which you say you agree with. How, then, does that suddenly equate to "the Left" some how forcing people to not sell things? Which apparently makes them disappear from reality and suddenly "the Left" is controlling all information. That was a rather sudden escalation from not selling a book to controlling all of society.
Hasbro choosing to change the name of a toy line, Amazon choosing which books and they want to sell, and Seuss Enterprises choosing to not publish some of their own books were the companies themselves choosing to do what they wanted with no outside interference. As far as I know that is still something you have the freedom to do in the United States unless you would like to seize their means of production and force them to make the products you want but I would think the Right would cry “bloody murder” that that is communism. But that’s also assuming the Right would recognize communism to know not to suggest it.
