I'm not usually on the "old couple" bandwagon.

But when I saw the old couple struggling to find the cluebox on that bridge... I just got this feeling that they were kinda hopeless.

Yeah, I couldn't believe how many times they went by the box and never saw it! I couldn't help but laugh after they found it and said 'I don't think it was there before'....I mean do they REALLY think the producers hid the box or just put it up? It's not as if they were the first person on the bridge so others obviously had found it.

They were probably watching the show from home on Tuesday, and slapping their foreheads each time they saw themselves walk right past it.

Hey, does anyone remember the scene from the Denver Airport when Ray and Lake met?

Lake: Hi! I'm Lake!
Ray: Lake?
Lake: Yeah... like the ocean.
Ray: Oh! Well, I'm Ray... like the sun.

:D
That was hilarious. Ray was goofy!

I'm going to stick with my BJ and the Bear reference since it makes me cooler than anyone under 27.

That said, I finally realized what BJ and the Bear remind me of - a Spin Doctors/Black Crowes reunion world tour. :D

Yeah. Lake... like the ocean 'cause, uh, I guess that's a really big lake or somethin'...

Yeah, I couldn't believe how many times they passed it within a span of 15 seconds. I was actually yelling at the television. :)

The two guys in the hippie garb needs to be told that the 60's and 70's are over. Talk about being stuck in a "blast from the past".

So, this is season 9 and people still don't get it about reading ALL of the instructions and directions? What is that anyway? They should be eliminated just for that.

The "Amazon" sisters were irritating me to no end towards the end of the leg. With all their screaming and dramatics it's no wonder their cameraperson didn't just tell them to tone it down a bit.

The "Two Nerds" are so cute. :) Although, I could do without all the kissing and the constant lovie-dovie stuff between them.

Yeah I don't quite get that. It's not as if the people who go on TAR have never seen the show before, but yet EVERY SEASON it seems someone does not take the time to thoroughly read the instructions. Some of the couples who do it are the very ones who talk about how they have learned from other teams mistakes from past seasons..........YET THEY STILL DO IT! AHHHHHH!

I'm starting to think TAR is back in Emmy winning form, but I'm going to need another episode or three before I make a final verdict. I didn't hate the Family edition, but it just... well, it just wasn't the same. I am really enjoying this season so far and as the miles and footage (aka editing potential) add up, its bound to leave Survivor, the Apprentice and Celebrity Fit Club in it's wake.

A handful of non-spoiler comments, despite it being past the 12 hour safe period:

- BJ and the Bear are in darn good condition. They both look skinny and (make pot joke here) but they handled both the fire escape and ascender tasks with speed. I'm not convinced they couldn't have outrun the frat boys in a dash for 1st.

- Speaking of the frat boys, they're pigs. Decent guys flirt with a girl into herself - nice arms, how often do you work out. Pig flirt - nice arms, can I grab your bottom. Pigs. I can't stand them.

- And the testerone leads me to my next observation - both Lake and Michelle were wearing patches on their necks. Did they decide TAR was the right time to quit smoking? Will Lake's patch become more prominent as the veins in his head start to expand when he becomes angrier?

- Speaking of channelling energies/Karma/mojo, are the producers dissing Monica and Joseph by continuing to call them Joseph and Monica - Jo Mo, instead of their preferred "Mo Jo?"

- There are atheists in foxholes, but given how much prayer and supplication to the Almighty has been voiced on just two shows, there are apparently no atheists on The Amazing Race.

- In my issue of TV Guide some weeks ago Phil commented that Yvonne had the best legs of the women Racers. I didn't see it in the first episode, but as she did the ascender I had to agree. Is there anything in her bio about being an Olympic class sprinter?

- Next week Russia. I realize most of the footage will be about the tasks, but I would love to see how the Racers do on an 18 hour flight (assuming no layovers) from Brazil to Russia.

I was smacking myself in the forehead when Fran and Barry chose to climb the waterfall because they were spooked that they wouldn't know how to make ethanol. Just because you had trouble putting a motorcycle together doesn't mean that one of every detour challenge is going to require a Master's degree in something.

Still, they actually made it up that waterfall. That says a lot for them.

Both excellent and funny observations. I can't stand the bachelor beach bum (back-up barfy b-words) boys. They almost seem to be over-compensating in their continual assurances of their love for women, if you know what I mean.

And Lake/Michelle were wearing those patches in the last show too. I can't figure out if they are nicotine patches or motion-sickness patches. Personally, I think Lake's is a nicotine patch, and Michelle's is a Lake patch. I mean, wouldn't you need one? ;)

Way to go Fran and uh, whatshisname, for making it up that waterfall! I thought they were done for when their VW Bug broke down. It doesn't seem fair to me at all that a mechanical failure that is not a team's fault could cost them the game. They used to give time adjustments for stuff like that. Last year, the production crew drained how many car batteries? And no time credit. I call shenanigans on that.

But I got tears in my eyes when I saw they weren't eliminated. Something about the old teams always gets to me, I always root for them big time.

I am really going to miss the sisters. Although they were loud and obnoxious at times, they made it fun. And the support they gave each other was awesome even when the one sister had problems driving the VW Bug, her sister didn't berate her for it. Really good.

Now, as for Lake, the guy needs a Pill, or something. I wonder how long Michele can keep telling him to "calm down" before it starts getting really old.

Jeremy and his friend are just a bunch of pigs
And even though they will not likely be eliminated at all
They need to be stopped by being yielded
I think Fran & Berry are making wrong choices
They need to make the right ones
I applaud them for going to the waterfall
Shows you how pretty tough they are!

I agree - I got a kick out of them the first night - although the screaming can start to grate on the nerves some they were a hoot and would have been fun to watch thru out the race.

Are you talking about Yolanda? If so, then yes, she has got LEGS.

I wouldn't want her kicking me.

Yeah I am totally peeved about this one. The production crew kept draining batteries last season and somehow that's the teams fault? HUH? This never used to be the policy as people were supposed to win or lose on their own merits/choices. I agree that everyone gets a bad break from time to time, but when you are talking about cars that are provided by the show, then it's not in the same league as picking the wrong cabbie that doesn't have a good sense of direction...it's the fault of the show for not having the cars running properly.
