The next edition of the Amazing Race begins in 4 weeks, on February 28.

The cast has been announced:

• "Best Friends" BJ Averell and Tyler Macniven. BJ is a 26-year-old online tutor from Los Angeles, CA. Tyler is a 25-year-old filmmaker from San Francisco, CA.

• "Life-long Friends" Scott Braginton-Smith and John Lowe. Scott is a 41-year-old working in sales from West Harwich, MA. John is a 38-year-old wealth manager from Dorchester, MA.

• "Dating Couple" Yolanda Brown-Moore and Ray Whitty. Yolanda is a 27-year-old science teacher while Ray is a 31-year-old attorney. Both are from Chicago, IL.

• "Dating Couple" Monica Cayce and Joseph Meadows. Monica is a 23-year-old student from Fayetteville, AR. Joseph is a 23-year-old homebuilder from Fort Smith, AR.

• "Mother And Daughter" Desiree Cifre and Wanda Lopez-Rochford. Desiree is a 24-year-old writer from New York, NY. Wanda is a 44-year-old corporate trainer from Smyrna, GA.

• "Married Parents" Michelle Garner and Lake Garner. Michelle is a 36-year-old homemaker while Lake is a 37-year-old dentist. The couple lives in Hattiesburg, MS.

• "Sisters" Joni Glaze and Lisa Hinds. Joni is a 44-year-old children’s minister from Katy, TX. Lisa is a 48-year-old realtor/artist from Santa Rosa Beach, FL.

• "Sacrificial Lambs" "Married 40 Years Couple" Barry Lazarus and Fran Lazarus. Barry is a 63-year-old retired physician while Fran is a 61-year-old retired accountant. The couple lives in Silverthorne, CO.

• "Friends" Jeremy Ryan and Eric Sanchez. Jeremy is a 26-year-old waiter while Eric is a 27-year-old waiter. Both are from Fort Lauderdale, FL.

• "Dating Couple" David Spiker and Lori Willems. David is a 30-year-old musician while Lori is a 22-year-old Pizza Hut Manager. Both are from Manhattan, KS.

• "Childhood Friends" Dani Torchio and Danielle Turner. Both are 22-year-old recent college graduates from Staten Island, NY.

And they're going around the world again, finally!

So, who's waiting with eager anticipation?

• "Sacrificial Lambs" "Married 40 Years Couple" Barry Lazarus and Fran Lazarus. Barry is a 63-year-old retired physician while Fran is a 61-year-old retired accountant. The couple lives in Silverthorne, CO.

That "sacrificial lambs" part up there ^^ was an editorial comment by the person who wrote the article I was quoting. They had a strike-through on it, which didn't copy and paste. Being the "old" couple, they are of course always considered the underdogs (or, the "sacrificial lambs").

My husband and I will be watching! This time of the year is so exciting because there's so much good stuff to watch. We always look forward to TAR, but I wish not all the good shows came on/air new shows around this time (sweeps). Thank God for our DVR!

I love TAR. The only season I didn't watch was this last one with the fmailies. Didn't like the premise, didn't care to see a great show get trashed.

Family Edition won't ever, I can assure you all, be on!
But nice they experiment with it though.

Yeah you didn't miss anything with the family edition, hehe. Even Phil admitted in an interview last week that it was pretty much a failure and he was looking forward to never again having to say the words, "Teams must now travel 8 blocks..."

[Million Pieces]

A couple of years ago I was a member on a private message board with a guy living in New Zealand. He worked at the airport, and got to see some teams go through. He was able to describe the teams, and the order in which they travelled. It was the spoiler of the season!! It was wonderful!

My favourite team so far has been Chip/Kim. I was actually crying when they won. I hated Jon/Victoria with a burning passion. He was violent, cruel and a genuine pig. She was whiny and selfish.

Then there was Zach/Flo from Season 3. I wanted to throw something at the TV when they won. It was horrible.

Tomorrow night's the premier! I'm so looking forward to this season. Matt Roush, a reviewer with TV Guide, has seen the first two hours (tomorrow night's show) and said all Amazing Race fans will be thrilled with it. It's back to what it was before the Family Edition and Rombah fiascos.

I can't wait!!

That would be a first since that's the distance to the moon and back. It's actually 70,000, but that's still almost 3 times around the Earth.

Man, tomorrow this time (for EDT/CDT) we'll be basking in the knowledge of how this seaon is going to turn out. I can't wait. And remember folks, if you have to comment before 7am the next morning, please use spoiler tags.

Phil is going to be on the (gag) Tony Danza show today to talk about the race. If you can put up with the guy (Danza I mean) it might be worth watching.

What a great episode. The Race is back! I love the nicknames everyone has already pinned on the teams: The Hippies, The Double D's, Ken & Barbie (there's one of those every season I think), The Frosties.

Lake is this season's jerk. He didn't read the clue, violated the rules by calling ahead for an airline reservation, and then when Michelle told him they'd messed up he says, "That was partially my fault." He's no Jonathan, but I see a lot of Colin potential in him.

I love the nerds - I think they are my favorite team. Of course I always love every season's token old couple. The Hippies probably round out my top 3 teams.

I think it's going to be a great race - woohoo!

I totally agree. My husband and I were watching and the first thing out of his mouth after Lake said that was "What a jerk!" and I couldn't agree more!

I haven't really picked any favorites yet, it always takes me a couple of episodes to really get a feel for all the teams, but it looks like it's going to be an interesting season!

 

[Redguard]

I was pretty thrilled to see when they started the race at the Red Rock Theatre near Denver.

I went there with my church's youth group for a week long camp when there was an international camporee for my church's denomination. Brought back a lot of memories.

I was watching the taped episode at 1am and fell asleep. But I do remember "Lake" rubbing me the wrong way.

I'll have to watch the rest of it tonight. Glad I haven't seen any spoilers yet.
