I am only aware of the Ark being equated with Jesus.
see:-
1Peter3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. 19 After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits— 20 to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, 21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.

I think they were talking about the Ark that held the Mosaic tablets, Aaron's rod, and the saved manna from Heaven, not Noah's Ark. However, if you look at the part that I bolded above, you could draw a parallel between God waiting patiently while Noah's Ark was built and God waiting patiently for Mary to be born to serve as the new Ark of the new covenant.

Sorry Paul talked about the Ark and the flood in the same sentence.

Thank you for the Bible verse. I actually used it last night at Bible Study. We were talking about the Annunciation in Luke's Gospel and someone brought up the old chestnut of if Mary had not said yes, then God had a backup plan. So maybe Mary was actually the 28th Jewish woman in Nazareth that God had asked, sort of God doing speed dating. Of course this ignores the fact that God saw this all from Genesis and predicted it; but to the why Mary part, I think the answer must lie with God fashioning her like Noah did the Ark. They were both built for a singular purpose. Noah's Ark to save mankind and the animal species. Mary to serve, not as the savior, but the Ark that carried the Savior. To God, which was more important, Noah or the Ark? This does not diminish the Ark's part. The same boat could have been used to smuggle contraband Hello Kitty dolls and not been important at all. So we all are Ark's of a sort, built by God for a purpose and truly reaching our importance when we are within his will and purpose. Again, thank you and may God be with you today and always.
