Am I wrong for hoping?

So I moved churches to one that I could better serve and met this girl (worship ministers daughter) and we got really close really quick. We texted every day, and I've only known her for 3 weeks, and both had feelings for each other. I finally mustered up the courage to talk to her brother about her and her, in different settings. We ended up deciding that we are not ready for a relationship because we need to strengthen our relationship with God. So the question is am I in the wrong for hoping that we eventually date when we get more intimate with God?

I think what you're doing is right. Try to get closer to God, and when you both get it, you can start a relationship, and as you're closer to the Lord, He will be in the middle of you both, and therefore He will protect you both.
