• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Ok, it's like I am usually hyper and happy and like this: ^_^ ;) :D . But I can get depressed easily. Or atleast upset easily. Like if something makes me sad I dont get too far nto it or else i'll get really sad or something like that. I also can feel unwanted at times when in all sanity I know that isn't true. They say that traumatic expieiences cause it usually from what I hear. I have had one... or well actually three... So what do u guys think?

Thank you for Reading this!

Traumatic experiences can make bipolar disorder worse, but they don't cause it. It's caused by a genetic abnormality in the sensory receptor part of the brain.

This is a list of red flag symptoms for bipolar disorder in kids, but only a psychiatrist or psychologist is qualified to give you a diagnosis.

Well, could it be Posttraumatic Stress Disorder?

(information from:
http://www.ncptsd.va.gov/facts/general/fs_what_is_ptsd.html)
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of life-threatening events such as military combat, natural disasters, terrorist incidents, serious accidents, or violent personal assaults like rape. People who suffer from PTSD often relive the experience through nightmares and flashbacks, have difficulty sleeping, and feel detached or estranged, and these symptoms can be severe enough and last long enough to significantly impair the person's daily life.

PTSD is marked by clear biological changes as well as psychological symptoms. PTSD is complicated by the fact that it frequently occurs in conjunction with related disorders such as depression, substance abuse, problems of memory and cognition, and other problems of physical and mental health. The disorder is also associated with impairment of the person's ability to function in social or family life, including occupational instability, marital problems and divorces, family discord, and difficulties in parenting.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions, but maybe think about if you've had nightmares, or trouble sleeping because of your past traumatic events.

As alaurie said, only a doctor can draw a conclusion.( The diagnosis about my Bipolar disorder is a fact case). So I suggest you to see a doctor of psycology or psychiatry department.Maybe you only have symptom of neurosis, That is not serious indeed.

Happy birthday, I do not believe in labels, a lot of people are being labeled. I was labeled also probably the rest of my life but Jesus saved me gave me a new life and opportunities and new friends well not many count them on my hand and now my symptoms are gone.
I wanted to go on a tv show and talk about it but the show never got back to me. You sound normal you love your aunt where did she go do you have other family. Your young and are with all of us, the Holy Spirit is here with us ..you have friends here believe it or not. Love Vince.
