  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Am I being guided by numbers??

This is my story. I am a military brat so I move quite a bit. I was stationed in Japan for 4 years and by that time you make quite a few friends, but a few months before we move I constantly saw 9:11 every night I randomly checked the clock. I saw it so much it was getting to me, but thought it was a huge coincidence and I couldn't find anything on it.

I finally move and get back stateside and I saw 1:11 or 11:11 as much as I saw 9:11 in Japan. It finally got to me so I just typed 111 in google and see what I got. According to a website called angelscribe ( I can't link because of post count) ( I don't know if it is legit or not) but what makes me believe is they say

9:11 is a chapter closing in your life. As I was leaving Japan, I just graduated, friends were moving and living the life I had there was coming to an end after four years.

1111 is something new. Alot was new when I moved back to the states, college, new house, new everything.

Now I am finally settled in with a job and starting college soon and all I see is 55. I've been keeping track this time and I see it at least 5+ times a day. From what I researched it doesn't look like a pleasing number. "lust" seems to come up a lot, but I'm still not sure what it is.

And as a side note.. when I started typing this it was 11:11

I was wondering if I could get some opinions or thoughts on this. Is it just my head or am I being guided?

God continually speaks to us in subtle ways. But it is critical to keep your focus on Him, and why He's saying it to you -- not valuing the message more than the speaker.

If you lean on the numbers, then you will look for more numbers, instead of what He's trying to say.

You might find it interesting that someone in the dreams&visions subforum has a thread on 1111 right now.

Many believers get prophetic information about events that are in the works. God watches the plans of men. He knows what strategies are in process. There are times that He will ask His people to pray about things they could never know about. He knows, and just gives us enough information to get the ball rolling.

Ask God to pray through you, and use you to activate or initiate His will in whatever situation this might pertain to. Whether it's personal or more global, you can be sure He will hear your prayer.

When I work overnights I seem to always look at the clock when its 6:36 AM. Is it a sign?
(-: Maybe rush hour traffic? I used to wake up around 3 AM and wonder the same thing, til I realized a train went through around that time. Also people on trick work.

I know a lot -- I mean, a lot -- of Christians who wake up near 3:00 and feel it is a special designated time for prayer. Maybe because they have rested a bit, and are not distracted by family and laundry and phone calls. Maybe incontinence.

I've also found that certain clocks had a click or unusual noise at certain scheduled times -- especially ten minutes before an alarm goes off.

There was a time in my life some years ago that for about 2 months I would be constantly seeing the numbers 9 and 11. Sometimes I would see just 9's and sometimes I'd see only 11's. Though mostly I'd see 9:11 on clocks, timers and various other numerical displays.

Then the attack came on the World Trade Center on Sept 11 and I never have noticed seeing these same numerical combinations again.

I'm telling you this to let you know that although God may be speaking to you about something at these times, you shouldn't get caught up in 'Christian Numerology' and start thinking that every number has a certain meaning to it for you in your life when the truth of it could be something entirely different.

Blessings,

Alan

I think that's the key -- God spoke about 9-11 before we needed to deal with the real event. It was a thoughtful intervention.

Something like that happened to me this morning, without numbers. A topic in family life was brought up by strangers, when I had an external meeting, where people would have no reason to know or even talk about it. It was like God was saying "I'm there with you."

God uses people and situations to keep topics on our minds, so we are prepared to deal with them... so we cover the problems in prayer... so we think of how to help people if the situation arose.
