  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

i'm starting to think that if I got into a relationship that it would be cool for while and then the novelty would ware off and i'd want my alone time back.

I've become quite accustomed to my current lifestyle.

I tend to prefer alone time. But I enjoy spending time with people I’m close with. I think having too much alone time can be bad as well as not having enough alone time.
I’m an introvert. But I love people and my top love language always comes out as “quality time” when I take the love language quiz.

I don’t think I would be happy living alone. But I like to have my own space. I guess if I ever need to live alone I should get a cat.

Curious about how many people prefer alone time compared to being social.

Do you like spending weekends alone or out with friends more?

Do you like being single and not having someone else around?

I like and enjoy both. That is an advantage of being single as you can have both. If you are married, it is probably not good to have a lot of 'alone time'.
My alone time gives me time to concentrate with things on my mind. It is thinking time and I often get ideas and solutions while thinking, driving and being alone.
I can stay on either of my properties alone for as long as I want but, it is rare if I decide to stay alone for more than 2 days. I just get ichy and need to talk with people, friends, church family, etc. Talking on the phone, face book, etc helps a bit but, I need to be in contact with people face to face if not every day, every 2nd or third day. It is nice having my own income so , I have not had to commute and deal with people unless I want to.
With others, am happy with one other, a small group or large groups. I love helping at VBS for example in the summers.
So, I have both sides of me and enjoy both of them.

I'm the same, but for me quality time is with a small group (or even just one other person). Time spent with in a large group is going to tend not to be "quality".

Of course. Quality time is more one person. Sometimes a few.
I’m an introvert and I’m shy... so a crowd is even far less likely to be quality time.
But I'm not good at socializing (in real life) and I don't like doing it either, at least not with people I don't know well.
Me too....
It takes a lot of energy to talk with people I don’t really know. If I can avoid it I usually do.
Can’t avoid it at work though.

Depends. Generally I like my space but I also like a night out occasionally as well.

I try to push folks from work to go out once a month and that suits me fine. Beyond that I like time to myself to do anything or nothing.

Single versus not isn't a simple question either. Both have distinct benefits, it just depends what you want more.

At this moment in time I'm enjoying freedom to do what I want without affecting someone else's life. I can spend whatever I want on things I'd like, etc.

On the other hand, it would be nice to have someone to share the ups and downs with. To go shopping with or for. To take out for a meal. Go for a walk or have plans together etc.

I'm content, though, because I know I can't be as free-spirited when I do settle down. Could be dead in 5 years so making the most of the benefits of single life until I meet someone that will put up with me lol

I like being alone,I don't like being single and lonely, but I'm not going to cry about it,and I'm not going to just settle for any guy,I will wait for however long it takes me,to find a really great guy, that will treat me right, and that will treat me how I deserve to be treated.
