Alone at Easter

This is my first Easter as a widow. Really the first one alone in my life.!Marrying at 19 and then with my soulmate for 43yrs is a lifetime. It has only been 9mo and I believe the realization of his death is moving from my head to my heart. Easter is a time of re-birth and rejoicing, please pray that I can find just a little joy in this blessed season. God Bless

I too was married at 19, but I lost my husband after only twenty years. This is my second year as a widow. All the firsts were very hard. The last picture I have of my husband with me and our three children was taken at Easter, so it is also a hard time for me. I pray you will find comfort in the love that God has for you. He knows your pain. He hurts when you hurt.

This is my 3rd Easter without my husband. Easter was always a time spent with family. My husband's' family has disowned us for the past 2 years and everyone in my family has made their own plans. My daughter's husband's family has been kind enough to invite me to lunch, but I'm not sure how I'll feel. I'm not even sure if I'll be able to make it to church.

I know exactly how you feel. My family still expect me to make plans and let them know, but hey, its time for them to make plans. sorry to hear about your husband's family. What is wrong with them? I have to say I had a milestone today. I solo=ed on a day trip. went to visit my aunt in Mississippi,(I am in Louisiana) all by myself, left home aroung 9:00 and returned around 5:00. It was so pretty today, around 75 and the sun was so bright. Now I know I can do it. Even went to one of our favorite rest to eat. I don't know if I'm up to church or not this Sun, but hopefully I will. God Bless

Isn't it great how God helps us do the things that we didn't know we could do. Glad you were able to enjoy a beautiful day with your aunt.
