Wealth is relative. When Jesus was talking about a "rich man" not being able to enter heaven, how rich was rich? I think by their standards most all of us would be considered rich. No amount of money back then could buy (or rent) a house with hot and cold running water, flushable toilets, or air conditioning. Not to mention electric lights and appliances! What He was talking about had to have been the attachment to money.
Either that, or perhaps the fact that there were hundreds of extremely poor people dying of starvation in the streets. For someone to be rich and fat means that they did so at the expense of the lives of those outside their gates. Every day they would have to walk past these people as they slowly starved to death, refusing to offer them aide. And anybody with such a cold callous attitude toward other people cannot possibly enter the Kingdom of Heaven!
There are lots of poor people that have a computer and internet access. For all you who are against having money, how is it you are on the internet, posting on this board? I presume you're at the public library, using tax dollars to waste your precious time here then, am I right? Because poor people don't have internet access or computers.
The so called Christian people and churches do not keep Gods Law.'Cuz you have to be corrupt, pretty much, to be rich.
When Jesus told that one dude to give his possessions to the poor and follow Him, the guy wouldn't because he owned much land.
According to the law, you have to return land to the original family on the Jubilee. So....this guys family probably hadn't returned the land, since he owned much land...so he's basically robbing the poor of their inheritance.
The Law and "free market" democracies are two totally different economic realities. If you love Roman law (Greek, democracy hybrids etc), you'll hate God's. If you hate God's law, he's not going to let you in.
I suppose there might be exceptions to this "rich mans dilemma", and also the question of what constitutes rich. But, I just don't really see how someone living his simple life of farming on his 7 acres or whatev Law style, can get obscenely wealthy like todays pyramid scheme, international banker ran nightmare governments.
So...in short, rich people don't keep the Law.
I would also like to add....a rich man(one with lots of money) who is rich in Gods eyes will will make it into heaven just fine.
Not to mention if he is rich in Gods eyes then he is probably spreading his wealth to help those in need...not only monetarily to help others but also he is spreading Gods love.
There are lots of poor people that have a computer and internet access.
I think they are giving away laptops to school children in some states.
Reminds me of this saying by Jesus concerning beam vs speckLet's start with the "camel"-bit: there have been several attempts at explaining this weird imagery throughout the millennia.
The most popular is probably the claim that one of the gates of Jerusalem was called "the eye of the needle", and that it was so narrow that a merchant's camel needed to be relieved of its burden before it could fit through.
However, it's also been suggested that this is actually a very early misprint, substituting "kamelos" (= camel) for "kamilos" (= rope, cable).
That doesn't render the task easier, but it makes for a much more congruent (if less humorous) picture.
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven (Luke 18:25)
Comments on this. Why is it so hard for a rich man to enter heaven? Also since it's impossible for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, doesn't that it mean it's actually impossible for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven and actually makes the verse not make sense?

The more money you have the more likely you are to trust in it to save you, rather than Christ, that is why it is so hard for the rich to enter Heaven. It is not that they cannot, but rather that they tend to trust in "stuff" as opposed to God.
