How long can the story be? Does it have to be a complete story (dumb question, I know!)?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No, it doesn't have to be complete yet. Right now we're only requiring the character information, and the prologues, than we'll require the first chapter. You can enter as much as the story as you want. It doesn't have to be finished, but it can be if you want it to be.

Jesusfreak, nice screenname, oh, and no, there's no limit as to how long the prologue can be. It can be as long and as detailed as you want it to be. Think of it as a sample of your story. To give the writers a peak at the story, it's plot, your writing, and maybe even your characters. Make them thirst for more! ha ha!

Wonderful! This contest is pretty much a writer's dream contest. No limit to anything, you can think of anything, and get judged! hehe. I'll start my prologue soon...

Oh yes, please define "prologue"...usually prologue's are just introductions to the story, not the whole plot, often teasers.

Prologue - An introduction of your story. You're going to use it to give the judges a sample of your writing ability, your characters and how you use them, and what your story is going to be like. It doesn't have to introduce the plot if you don't want it to, that was just an idea.

Right. Though if you wanted to it wouldn't hurt if you posted here saying that you've posted your stuff in the creative writing forum. That way the Judges know to go and look at it.

Superhawk, you would put it in the creative writing forum down under Hobbies with the title of the story and AC in paranthesis for the subject.
