  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I love so much about star wars its hard for me pick favorite bits! I don't really care for episodes I, II, III . But I've watched IV, V, and VI probably over 100 times.

Probably, my favorite 'touching' moment is when Vader asks to look at Luke with his own eyes, for the first time, or when Vader is looking at Luke while the emporer is electrocuting him. That little bit of dust on his helmet makes him looks so sad.

Honestly I probably can't pick a favorite quote, I and my freinds in high school and college spoke in Star wars quotes most of the time. And many of them have humours memories attached. For instance the line by Vader to Luke in return of the jedi, "...sister. So, you have a twin sister" is what my roommate would say anytime he would get the beam sword in smash bros, then proceed to quote Vader the entire time he had it.

I read a bit of the young jedi knights books when I was younger, and I liked the stories held within. But probably my favorite non-movie storyline is the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series. Kyle Katarn is pretty dang awesome.

You don't want to sell me deathsticks. You want to go home and rethink your life.

There's numerous good quotes in the Karen Traviss books- she includes nice ones at the beginning of every chapter.

I've always liked the old SW films w/o the added special effects... Episode III had the potential to be the best SW film but it disappointed on so many levels. And it was mostly because of execution and writing... If you were to tell me about III (just the concept of what happens), I would expect it to be easily the best SW film. Watching it though it was just done so wrong and so bad. I still like it though... but... knowing it could have been done better with a few tweaks makes it annoying to watch.

Anyway, my favorite of the OT was always Return of the Jedi. For some reason I was always fascinated by Jabba the Hutt and the pit they fight over. That part was one of my favorite scenes.... which was completely ruined when they redid it in the SE with adding the stupid worm in there and the extra tentacles. I had a 3D Return of the Jedi board game and that was actually my first introduction into Star Wars. I wanted to see the movies cause I loved the game. You had the box that was the pit and then the ship sets across it which is the board. You gotta go through and knock the baddies into the pit and reach jabba and defeat him. It was a simple game but I don't know I liked it and I guess that's why I loved that scene in the movie (still one of my favorite parts). Or maybe it was just the most memorable because I was anxious to see that part and Jabba and stuff when I was watching it for the first time.

And I couldn't stand what they did to Jabba in the SE of A New Hope >.<... Awful awful awful.... what was wrong with the puppet Jabba??

My favorite moment in Star Wars was probably realizing that the character in KOTOR 1 was Revan while on the Leviathan. That took me completely by surprised, it was awesome. I really can't pick a favorite movie. Favorite quote is yoda- "Do or do not. There is no try."

I love that, caught that when I watched the marathon on SpikeTV the other day.

Haha, yeah. I love looking for all of the bloopers within the movies, like when the storm trooper bangs his head on the ceiling gap. :D

Or when the guy Vader killed protects his face as he's thrown.

My favorite moment in Star Wars was when I became a master Bounty Hunter in Star Wars Galaxies. :) Favorite movie has alway been Empire Strikes Back, loved seeing those terrorist rebels get whipped. :p

As for quote, I like this one from KOTOR II(gah, why won't they make a third?!?!?):

"Is that what he was? Or was he always true to himself, no matter what personality he wore? And there is something that the Council may never understand. That perhaps Revan never fell. The difference between a fall and a sacrifice is sometimes difficult, but I feel that Revan understood that difference, more than anyone knew. The galaxy would have fallen if Revan had not gone to war. Perhaps he became the dark lord out of necessity, to prevent a greater evil."

I'm not really that much into books, but I love the SW games. Even ones that actually aren't that good at all, like Rebellion. :p

As an aside, anyone used to play that card game made by Decipher, SW:CCG? That was a good game, I wish I knew what happened to my cards though. :( I used to have a limited edition premiere Vader, every Luke up to Son of Skywalker, Obi-wan, Death Star, Executor, etc etc....I had a lot :p

That is simply not true! Rebellion, despite it's bad graphics and non-user-friendliness, is a very deep and excellent game and the best Star Wars RTS till Empire at War, IMO (not that it had much competition =P).

But I digress, I <3 Star Wars. The universe is so deep and complex, and yet still manages to draw you in without being overly convoluted. It's tech is just shy of implausible and damn cool.

My favorite book series is the Thrawn trilogy, simply because Thrawn is so awesome.

I loved the scene where Vader is dying and he asks Luke to take his mask off, so he could see his son through his own eyes. By far one of the most dramatic moments and best moments I've seen in any movie. So unbelievably sad, but so unbelievably good at the same time.
