  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Guess I'm joining the dragon club :)

Got him at the auction for 10k, his stats look pretty high tho and he's level 6. His name is Lyric.

I just got into the pets, so can somebody kinda tell me how they work? The camp and battles, statistics, levels etc?

I have two, Lyric and a Pegasus named Belle that I adopted.

I like the color he has. Congrats on getting your pets. Training your pet makes their stats get higher. if they get hurt bad enough in a battle or in training they could die, so be careful. Lyric looks strong enough though you shouldn't have too much to worry about except other peoples pets in battles. If you look around in the pet section of teh forums you'll find teh answers to your questions. I'll try to get the short easy answer for you though. Do you want to know about breeding? I'd ask Redneck Crow about that. I coudl use a more specific question. With that I could answer you more easily. There is a lot of information to pass on without knowing what you need to know. If you look at teh pets you can get without having to wait for an egg, you'll see that Lyric's stats are very high.

:sorry:

Yeah, I have both in training.

Can I only do one training battle a day? Do I keep them in camp?

And the stats...Do they come high? Or do they get higher with training?

Are Lyrics stats high compared Belle's because his previous owner trained him?

One more...Age, how do they age? Did somebody pick it or does it start at 0 and go up like the old pets?

You can train as many times as you like (providing you have the blessings for it and blessings for medicine if they get hurt). But you have to take them out of training before you can feed them or heal them.

The stats get higher with training, but if your pet happens to be the result of breeding two high-level pets, your pet will be born with high stats. Which may or may not be a good thing :p

Lyric's stats are higher than Belle's because dragons have higher base stats than pegasuses (um... no idea idea if that's the correct plural of pegasus LOL). Plus if Lyric's former owner trained him then yes he'd have higher stats that way as well.

And they age just like the old pets... though I have no idea if they grow like the old pets. They grow as their level gets higher, but I don't know if they grow as they age or not.

It looks like a little bit of growth takes place with age, but greater faster growth takes place as they level. Lyric was birthed from high level pets, that's why his stats are so high. When battle is completed, keeping your pet in the camp doesn't do anything for them. Only active battles get them experiance. Check the forums tehre are soem neat tutorial like threads about the camp and the arena.

The Low Down on High Stats~

High Stats have advantages if you're breeding animals that you plan on putting in battle or leveling up. They can save you on blessings if that is your goal. Here's an example:

Here is my girl, Sapphire http://christianforums.com/petz.php?do=view&id=201

She has been fully leveled up. It cost hundreds of thousands of blessings to do this. Most of those blessings were not spent for the actual training battles, but for healing. A 200 point hit will cost you 500-800 blessings to heal. As you get to the higher levels of training, 1000+ point hits aren't that uncommmon. That is a whole heap of blessings to burn through. See the halo? That means that Redneck Crow spent umpteen thousands of blessings healing this girl after her fights.

This is Sapphire's grandson, Starfire http://christianforums.com/petz.php?do=view&id=331

Starfire is at level 10 as of this writing. He hasn't taken a single hit yet. So all of my blessings have been spent on actual leveling, not on healing. He's much more economical to level up than a pet that has been created from scratch. Based upon his stats, I'm guessing that I will have to do some healing on him along the route, but it will not be nearly as much as I would spend on a pet that started out level 1 with normal starting stats.

This is Sapphire's granddaughter, Heritage http://christianforums.com/petz.php?do=view&id=333

As of this writing, Heritage is level 50 and has not taken a single hit in training. All the training blessings are spent on actual training, not on healing. At this point in her training, I estimate that she has cost me at the very least 20,000 fewer blessings, and probably more than double that if I actually sat and calculated it out, to train than her grandmother,Sapphire. As it goes up, I expect the savings to increase dramatically.

Baseline, I find that it costs about 350-400 blessings for the training battles alone per level that you raise your pet. If you buy a pet leveled to 10, you're reaping about 3500 to 4000 points worth of training.

If you plan on leveling your pet up, figure on healing costing you about 300 blessings per level on a created-from-scratch pet on the lower levels, and about 1000 to 5000 per level on the higher levels.

So what are the advantages of created pets vs pets that have been bred from high level pets?

If you want a pet for having a pet only, created pets give you exactly what you want and in exactly the color and gender you choose. You aren't wasting extra blessings for stats, and those stats are not going to be any advantage to you if you don't plan on leveling it up. If you aren't particular about the pet and just want any pet, creating an egg is the cheapest route to go. 900 blessings, and you might luck out and get one from a couple of high level dragons. You pays your blessings and you takes your chances.

If you want to level up, though, it's a huge advantage to have a pet that has been intentionally bred from high level pets. Take a look at Heritage, who is level 50. She hasn't taken a single hit in training. She will cost me far less to level up than her grandmother, less than half.

My advice is that you get pets that suit the purpose you have in mind for them. You don't buy a Lamborghini to drive the kids to school, and you don't put a Honda Civic in car races. If you are realistic about your expectations and plans when you select a pet, you can get the most bang for your buck. Or for your blessings. ;)
