  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

We have always had visitors but they don't hang around much if they are going to get trampled. I have been seeing them run off again and again and I really hate that. I'm hoping that now that the forum doesn't allow theistic evolutionists to post new members can populate the threads with solid creationist posts.

I know when I first got into this whole topic I felt pretty isolated. Finding resources can be tough when all you really have are Creationist websites and scoffing evolutionists to go on. I firmly believe that the Life Sciences and science in general is totally neutral. You don't have to choose between the Bible and science, you can learn the sciences without compromising faith in the literal truth of Scripture.

The regulars on here are great, I would just like for some of the Creationists out surfing the net to get the chance to know them. I know they have been a blessing to me.

Grace and peace,
Mark

I really enjoy seeing some new faces, specially in recent months, that actually stick around. There have been times where I had to take a break from CF for months at a time. In the last week or so this forum has been much better which I believe is creating an environment that isn't nearly as hostile. I would also agree with Mark that it is nice to be able to fellowship with other Creationists on the internet.

As for busterdog's post I have been lacking in my prayer for this forum but after reading this I think I'll be changing that.

Project 86, Vossler and Mark must be praying.

Where did all these new creationists come from all of a sudden?
Yet this is what the public is being fed:
"
DIFFERING VIEWS OFTHE ORIGIN OF LIFE

• THE BIBLE: Genesis says God created the Earth, plants, animals and man. Christian fundamentalists read this as the literal explanation for life's origin and say scientific theories such as evolution cannot be true. This view is called creationism.
The main Christian denominations interpret Genesis as an allegory on how God created life and accept the scientific theory of evolution as an explanation of how species developed. This is known as theistic evolution."

This is from the following article talking about the Pope's views: http://news.scotsman.com/international.cfm?id=560262007

Is this claim really true? I wonder how many people really know what they believe when it comes to origins, and how much effort they've put into studying the issue. I think many just go to Church and have their religion, and accept what the media says about origins without really doing any research.

I would highly agree. When I first became a Christian I was the exact same way. It wasn't until I ran into a debate about creation that I started to take a closer look at this issue. Many churches that I am aware of avoid the issue all together because it is "too controversial". If issues are too controversial I believe that should be a red flag that churches need to take a closer look at those issues and not shy away!

I quite agree.
As one who has been interested in this subject for a long time,
I happen to know for a fact that people don't just accidentally stumble across Creationist information.
Thankfully, they play little snippets on Christian radio of Ken Ham talking about Creation,
but we certainly won't see a tv program about it,
or a book at the library.
No. If we want Creationist information,
we have to hunt it down.
And in order to hunt for it,
we have to know that it's there in the first place.
And we have to know where to look for it.

It's not easy being a Creationist.
I have spent a lot of money on books and tapes so that I could have the information that supports Creation.

I've recently had a conversation with my son-in-law (who is a pastor of a church) about this subject. As a pastor, he would love to dive into creation topics, but diving causes dividing. Unfortunately, churches depend on offerings to survive, and rather than trusting the Lord and preach it like it is, many churches take a safer road so they don't alienate members. But by feeding us milk instead of solid food, they have people leaving anyway because they need more than the church is able to provide.

That's why I love this group of people. I'm able to dig into topics that I can get passionate about and thus get closer to the Word and God. I actually became a Christian because of the Creation/Evolution debate and my investigation into it. So when I meet Christians that haven't studied the issues it puzzles me.

I have been a creationist since 1972 (although I was Gap theory for a year in there, but then I learned Hebrew). I have believed in the universal flood since 1966. I have been here at CF for quite a few months, maybe even a few years.
Often I just avoid the forum because the TE's have been allowed to mock me and speak evil of the way of Truth. I just don't need that. When Paul confronted such persons he just separated himself from them. If I want to debate and argue I will go to their turf to do so. But sometimes I want the fellowship of believers, people who believe the Bible means what it says. People who know the Word. In the TE place they ask you for "evidence," and they mean some diatribe of a EvoMythologist masquerading as a scientist. Evidence of a biblical text is not evidence to them. But that is evidence to me.
