  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As a seeker after God, you might like to see this paper, which I see as showing the essence of the Faith:

SIMPLE GOSPEL TRUTH​
[The Gospel ---good news of God as shown in His Holy Word, is all about a relationship with God through His beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ --not by religious works, good thoughts, and doctrines. God made it simple for one who is earnest, sincere to obtain salvation, and is ready to confess their sin before our Creator-God. Is the reader ready? - R. DeWitt]

God says: "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him" - John 3:36; also, "He that has [possesses] the Son has life, and he that has not the Son of God has not life" [eternal] - 1 Jn. 5:10-12; so, the word to mankind is very plain. Has the reader done this? Salvation is not about just believing in God, but receiving the Savior. One then ought to read John 1, John 3, John 14 in their Bible and then pray to God to lead them.

When one receives the Lord Jesus into their heart and is devoted to Him, He will enter into that one by His Holy Spirit (a "new birth"), and one will thus be sealed forever as a "child of God", and can go forth settled and at peace trusting the promise of God. See the presence of the Trinity of God in one at John 14:23.

The true believer can then study Acts and the Epistles to see what the Christian life and testimony ought to be in the world. -RLD from biblecounsel.net
