[Luke 24:5-6]; Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen.
There is that which died in Christ. The Bible says that our old man was crucified with him that the body of sin may be destroyed. When we died, we died to sin (lost any relationship with it) and when we arose, we live unto God.
When God considers something as dead, it means that even if that thing might have the semblance of life to the man, any actions that proceed forth from it are inconsequential, un-regarded, and un-recognizable to God. That is the same authority by which God says that he that is born of him does not commit sin.
It does not matter what the flesh can do. In the mind of God, it is dead.
A man seeks the living among the dead when he tries to find his life in that which was destroyed by God; the flesh.
He does this by giving cognizance to the works and deeds of that which is dead. When his flesh causes him to sin, he says, I have sinned. When his body is sick, he says, I am sick.
That is the teacher that tells his New Testament Congregation that they are unrighteous and sinners by reason of their actions in the flesh.
But now, God is calling us to a mind like his; to think like him. If it is dead to God, it ought to be dead to us. The real life is in Christ, not in the flesh. It doesnt matter what the man does, he remains righteous.
He remains a saint, sinless, holy and blameless, because to God, that body of sin is dead but the spirit of the man is alive.
