I played the game, though that is more of an adaptation of Aliens (with a little bit of Alien, Alien 3 and Predator mixed in for good measure) since it predates the film. Off topic, I know, but I'd just like to state that the Marine mission was the video game adaptation of a movie that I've ever seen. Really feels like the Hadley's Hope they show in the movie, and there is just as much of a sense of horror.

Movie was good the game are good, but the books are best.
AvP movie got some of their ideas from the AvP books, I wish they could have done it more like the books. But one thing is good, they have taken too cool and scary creatures and but them into the same world.

Why is it that humans in the Aliens or Predetor movies are so dumb? cant they learn from past experience.

They took a lot of the ideas from the comic book series, I don't know if that is what you are talking about though.

If you liked AVP at the theaters, wait until the directors cut DVD come out……the DVD will be the movie it was intended to be. It will show every human dying (which they cut out) and will also have 5 predators instead of the 3 (so I’ve heard) the movie will be over 25 minutes longer with all the deleted scenes they cut to make the movie pg-13.

I personally thought they should make a movie about when the predators came to earth, and were showing the humans how to build ect ect, that we pretty sweet

Did you see Alien vs Predator? What's your favorite part?

I thought it was so corny. I expected to see back breaking, slobber knocking fights between the two creatures, I was wrong. My favorite part were the closing credits.

My review isn't quite as dismal, but it was a bit cheezy! I did enjoy the movie because I went in without any expectations. I tried to play the game a long time ago...it gave me a headache! I like the concept of the human race being pawns, I just thing they could have done a classier job of it. It felt too much like Indiana Jones for the genre. It missed the "edge" of both the Alien and Predator series. I actually want to rent it to see it at least "one more time." Call it a guilty pleasure...

 Comics? Novels?
I don't know about the novels, but the concept of AVP was taken from a series of mini-series published by Dark Horse comics in the 90s.

I haven't seen the movie, nor have I read any of the comics, but I hear they're pretty good. I'll check out the DVD when it's released, though.

Oh, for more info on the AvP comics, just head on over to Amazon.com and search the bookstore for 'Aliens Predator.'

I thought the movie was great! I loved the interaction with the Predator that survived until the end. I also thought it was really good the way they didn't exceed or change anything that had been previously learned in any of the other movies. They stuck with the storylines in both series and made it a very creditable "side-line" story. I think there will definitely be a second one, judging by the ending. I didn't see it in the theatre, so I don't know what they left out then, but the ending was great on the DVD. Chest-burster! 2nd movie lead-in! :D
