  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Am I the only one? I see a Marine and a couple Army threads, and a lot of Navy threads.

I'm an E-4 (Senior Airman) in the Air Force. My AFSC is 2A353A, and I'm a crewchief on F-15E Strike Eagles.

I was at al Udeid, Qatar and al Jabra Kuwait for OIF. Anyone else in the AF or at those two bases?

Well there are many Navy threads obviously because our flyer's wings are made of gold whilst the Air Force's are made of lead... ;)

Seriously, I think your service is great even if it is in the Air Farce...er, Force. :sorry:

Ah inter-service rivalry... God bless.

Not according to the chant taught to me in Basic

It's kinda hard to dig in at the Navy without getting a little inappropriate. I'll just leave it at I'd rather wear Blue than white ;)

My dad served 26 years a meteorologist in the Air Force. He retired in '86 as a SMSgt and did the same thing as a civilian at Sheppard, AFB for another 15 years until his death from cancer. I am proud to have flown on my fathers wings. :)

I was at Sheppard for part of my training. I really didn't like the base, though I miss the people I was with.

One of my grandfathers served on the U.S.S. Nevada during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Another was an Aerial Gunner on a B-17.

My husband is a SSGT in the ANG (security forces). He was stationed at al Udied in OIF also.
So you are not the only Air Force personnel around! He says to say hi, are you enjoying snow? Or do you miss those Hot Qatar nights? Ha ha.

If any of you SP's work the flightline, you know there's a historic rivalry between flightline maintnance and the police. Well, at least at SJAFB :)

My respect for you guys goes up the more I know about you, though. All the special training, Anti-Sniper training, and the fact I've seen pictures of SP's riding convoy protection...that's stuff is awesome.

As for me missing hot Qatar nights, believe me in January is was very cold there. The desert is always the worst of everything.

22yrs AF. (F4E, T43, USAFA instructor, ALO working w/ Army and jumping out of perfectly good airplanes)

staying in: because where else can I have this much, see so much and get paid so much, well not the last part. the other reason. I can't leave this fighting terrorism job undone.

funny part of all this time in the AF. It wasn't until I started working w/ the Army as an Air Liaison Officer (ALO) that I went off to war, twice. Afghanistan and Iraq. important safety tip or note to self. no more tours working w/ the army.... ;)

cheers and its always good to see AF on the BBS

I was AF for five years, '80 to '85.

My dad and three uncles were in the Army (WWII), two uncles Air Force (one WWII, one post-war), one BIL Army post-war, one BIL Navy post-war, one nephew AF, one cousin Navy, and around six or so more cousins Army during Vietnam.

I guess you could say that I come from a military family. :)

Well, I am not in the military but I plan to become a Marine and also hope to be accepted into the Scout/Sniper program. I have always thought that flying a multi-million dollar plan and dropping bombs would me the most fun in the world but I am unsure that I would ever be given that oportunity and I prefer to use myself (meaning I prefer to use my own body as my method of trasportation and maneuver rather than a vehicle).
