AIM Chat!

Hi everyone,

I was thinking that maybe we could all get on AIM some night and chat "live" rather than just using the forums. If you already have an account, that's great, if you don't, you can get one free .

Create an account in AIM, but to allow you to communicate better with people using other instant messengers, I recommend actually using trillian at trillian.cc. Trillian is a unified instant messaging program that will allow you to communicate with other people who are using various types of instant messengers, but without you have to also have a copy of each of those instant messengers. When you start up trillian, tell it that you have an AIM account and enter in your AIM username and password. You can then use Trillian to contact other AIM users, or MSN users, or Yahoo users, etc.

My account name is cyberSpng (believe it or not, "cyberSponge" was already taken! What are the odds!?). You can just add me to your buddy/contact list.

the only thing left is to figure out a time and date. I'd like to do it this weekend cuz school starts monday and I'll be quite overworked. Would, say 8pm EST, 5pm PST on Sunday work out? One of us could then create a chat room using AIM, then could invite everyone else to it. It's the next best thing to us being in the same room chatting.

So what do you guys think? Who's with me? If you have AIM or get AIM, please post your screenname on this thread so we can all add you to our buddy lists.

If you use Trillian you can cross over between MSN and AIM.

as anastasios says, if you have Trillian then you'll have no problem. When you start it up, you'd enter in your MSN info for yourself, but enter in AIM contacts. Then you can use trillian while the rest of us use trillian or AIM.

I don't have AIM on windows but I use Kopete on Linux which puts AIM, MSN, Yahoo and a couple others in the same window. My username is either Shagzilla69 or Shagzilla6969 (Shagzilla was my Iksar monk on Everquest and I was born in '69 so it's not something dirty.)
