Look, please engage us nicely here. I'm newer, but I've lurked on these forums.

I'm not going to chastize you, but you have to think to yourself about what Jesus would do and what the Lord's view of you would be under these circumstances. Lots of places to improve and do God's will, but that is only up to you.

You think of God as someone who tourtures and put people in pain, that is somthing that does not flow well with me, and because of you (and your buddies), I cant take you seriously.

Unless you have not read the old and even the new testaments, God was recorded as being a vengeful deity that inflicted punishments for such things as spilling seed, for idol worship, and other infractions. How you can say God doesn't punish is beyond me because He has in the past and you obviously don't believe the words in the Book.

Saying that God punishes us with AIDs is not only offensive, but wrong. If it were true, everyone would suffer in direct proportion to the amount of evil they have done. This is clearly not the case. I've done some bad things but I'm having a decent enough life. How is this fair when a child, who has done nothing wrong, is born with the virus?

Well point out in the NT where God showed any wrath and please remember, if God was as vengeful as you think, with all the "immorality" that goes on, we would all be rained on with fire ect... God is love, just realize that.

Your scare tactics are not going to work, I know God is love.

I find it funny how you sit there and talk about the love of the Lord and yet you believe God punishes us with disease.

Do you just look at the Bible's words and say, oh thats how it is, or dont you bother to look into it?

Now look at my question, you claim how God is all full of wrath, well, the world is more corrupt today than in the OT, because there is alot more things happening, like war ect... now dont you think God would be doing what He did to people in the OT?

I'd disagree that this discussion is intellectual. You've derailed this thread with inflammatory statements, and some of us have tried to help you to see why they're very wrong. So how is it that people don't suffer equally? If you've got two children, and one rarely does anything wrong but the other's a bit of a troublemaker, you're obviously going to punish the one who behaves the worst more. But this isn't what happens on a national or international level. People suffer because of poverty. To say that they're being punished by God is wrong, and dangerous, because it promotes the attitude that we shouldn't care.

Not to mention they clearly dont understand Jesus Christ's teachings , Jesus came and preached about loving your neighbors (even your enemies), and how you should forgive others.

...but you view God as someone who punishes people with these awful diseases, is that what you really think? Dont you understand God's love? Dont you understand His love towards people who have wronged Him? Jesus on the cross said "forgive them father for they know not what they do", does not sound like He punished them.

A big problem is medical facilities that only have the most basic of electrical equitment, and that may not even have running water to sterilize properly. Another problem is rape, another is lack of education, and yet another is lack of diagnostic tests.

Children are born with AIDS because of poverty. Poverty is caused by hard-hearted people and ignorance of facts about the causes of poverty, by lack of educational facilities and by large organizations taking advantage of small towns and villages.

I never knew poverty was the causative mechanism for children being born with HIV. Do any of you really know how the children are born with it?

And yes, AIDS punishes those that behave badly and there is plenty of collateral.

And I cant believe you ignore what Jesus said, you know it could be possible God changed couldnt it? Or could it be that the Bible is mostly symbolic and you are taking it too literally, and what does Stone Cold have to do with anything?
